We are going back Thanksgiving. We've stayed at Boardwalk the past several summers and love being able to walk or boat to MGM and Epcot, bus the AK and MK.

Wilderness Lodge looks like boat to MK and bus everywhere else???

Tips and suggestions appreciated.

That's correct about transportation. We stayed at the BW in May 05 and staying in WL in 9 days.

It's a personal preferences. I liked the Epcot resorts and being able to get to MGM and Epcot easily. I didn't like the boardwalk.

WL seems like a better themed resorts, more down home in the country. cozy. I hear it can get loud with the Whipering Canyon right there.

I perfer staying on the Epcot side because of the transportation. The Boardwalk is my fav but the beach club is a close 2nd. Mousekeeping at the Yatch club is horrible but the resort is nice.

You can also take a boat directly to the Contemporary, at which point you can hop on a monorail or walk to MK. (I'm not sure the value of doing this beyond just trying something different, but I thought I'd put it out there!)

We almost always stay at the WL. The boat to the MK is a wonderful way to start or end the day. We have never had trouble with the bus transportation, despite what others have reported. We do take the launch over to the Contemporary to go to Chef Mickey's and then hit the monorail.

We stayed at the Boardwalk Inn last year and while being close to EPCOT was great and the boatride to MGM was very relaxing, the bus transportation reall stunk. I understand things have changed somewhat with splitting the hotels and buses.

We're WL junkies. We've never had a problem with transportation. We take the boat to/from MK and to the Contemporary (for Chef Mickey's or to hop the monorail to Poly for Ohana). We've never had a problem with the busses. If anything, they've been very enjoyable since they've never been that crowded. I also like the boat dock at MK is pretty much front door/curb side service. LOL At the end of the day.. standing there trying to decide... look way over to the busses or the boat right in front of you. It's absolutely gorgeous at the WL. We've never been bothered by the noise at Whispering Canyon and we have stayed in the lobby rooms before. We like getting a room between the 4th & 6th floors on the MK side. Beautiful view (anyone who complains about the service entrances and things right below need to look UP rather than straight down! LOL). We also love the pool/hot tubs. We've seen a lot of the other resorts from resort hopping on the busses. WL seems to be more relaxing imo because of the colors used/styling/vibe.

WL is our favorite resort. You can also take a boat to the Contemporary then the monorail to TTC and then to Epcot. The bus to Epcot is faster, but not at fun.
