Boardwalk Restaurants

Out of the following restaurants at Boardwalk Inn, please rank in terms of your recommendation for dinner (assuming price is not a concern): Spoodles, Flying Fish Cafe, and Big River Brewing Works (I think that's the name). Comments to explain your rankings would be appreciated.

Also, if you've eaten at one or more of these restaurants, but not all, I'd still love to hear about your experience, and whether you would recommend it for dinner.

You can see from my post count that I'm more of a lurker than a post-er, but I had to reply to this one. You can probably guess from my profile name which restaurant I recommend.

Sorry, I don't have any input on the others, but we obviously enjoyed Spoodles. That was on my last trip, way back in '97 :drevil: . We just loved the food and the open kitchen atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it for dinner.

As you can see I am one of them there lurkers also - But I thought I could help shed some light on this subject so...

Here goes my rankings -

1) The Flying Fish. - One of the Best Seafood resturaunts on Property. The Menu changes almost daily. If they have it try the Tilefish, It's fantastic. - The only drawbacks if any were - 1 - It can be costly and - 2 - It can get a little noisy in there.

2) Spoodles - This is such a great place. It would have been our fave if The Flying Fish wasn't there. We loved the menu and the prices. The only drawback here seemed to be Noise. This is such a large area it can get pretty loud at times. Not too loud, just noticeable.

3) ESPN zone - They have the canned ESPN Menu, which is pretty good low priced fare. And If it's a Monday Night During Football season. the place can be a great time.

and Finally

4) Big River Brewing - I like this place only for sandwiches and Beer. Entrees are only so so and service the last couple times we were there was downright Bad. So it's off our dinner list for a while. We still will stop by for a beer, or 6 and a sandwich though.

I hope this helps.

I've only eaten at ESPN and Big River. I think they are both completely different. I liked the food at Big River and my husband loved the atmosphere at ESPN. It's really all about what you're in the mood for.

I would echo the order mentioned by BDF. By far Flying Fish is best at the Boardwalk, if not in my top 5 in all of WDW.

I personally wouldn't do either ESPN or Big River for dinner. I can do ESPN near home, and Big River is great for beer, but I wasn't too impressed with the food.
