Hey everybody, I was planning on booking my next trip for my girlfriend and her 12 year old daughter, and myself and my 14 year old daughter, at either the Polynesian Resort or The Boardwalk Resort in October. I was hoping for some feedback, pros and cons for each place if you have any.
I have been to WDW many time but we have never stayed at eirther resort and would love to hear your thoughts, Any information would be extremely welcomed.
Thanks a lot everyone.

It used to be the poly for me until they ruined the lobby when they refurbbed it. I was there again last night looked out over the new lobby and recalled the days of the sites and sounds of the water falling across the rocks. How tropical and fitting it was. Now just a miniature tiki God with a trickle of water. I also visited the new restaurant on the point and give them high marks for it to be fair.

That was my first thought too. The lobby and the bungalows, both the interior and exterior ruined.

The Boardwalk may just be the most perfectly located resort, within walking distance of EPCOT and DHS. I do find the theme a bit on the boring side, but tastes vary. I know people who stay there everytime and I can see why.
Poly would've been my first choice until not too long ago, but it does seem to have lost its magic. Fences around the pool, urban sprawl around the lagoon, white sandy beaches that are nowadays off-limits and give to yuckie water anyway, the view over the lake blocked by bungalows.

Having just stayed at the Boardwalk, while the general public parts of the resorts are nice and gorgeous, I wasn't impressed with my room. I did like being able to walk to EPCOT within minutes and enter through the International Gateway to the WS where I spend most of my time in that Park. If it was me I'd choose Poly.

Personally now I would lean towards the wilderness lodge, note there is some construction but it has a great look and fell the way the poly used to. You may also want to consider the animal kingdom lodge. Your 12 year old will enjoy the animals and the facility is great.
