We are staying at the Boardwalk Inn for the first time in September, YAY! We have stayed at YC & BC many times and are very familiar with the actual Boardwalk, just not the resort. Since it will be blazing hot we plan on hitting the parks early morning and late evening to avoid the heat which gives us most of the afternoon to lounge around the resort. Any recommendations of things we should do or check out at the resort? I remember reading the thread about the ghost in or around the elevator, so I will probly spend a good amount of time ghost hunting after a few adult beverages. Wifey is scared of her own shadow so I need to figure out some other stuff we can do together. Any ideas are greatly appreciated! I need input... more input!

Don't miss out on the lounge off of the main lobby. The Belle Vue Room is a quaint and relaxing spot to unwind after a day in the parks. It's seldom crowded, never loud and the bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable. It's one of my favorite spots in any of the resorts. We have pre-gamed many a dinner reservation from the two-top table against the wall, right before the bar. There's an old timey radio on the shelf there that plays a long loop of radio shows from yesteryear. It's a hidden bit of theming that I really appreciate.

BW is mine & DH's favorite resort. The pool is great, circus themed & not usually overly crowded when I've been there. We like to take a day or two just to lounge there. There's a pool bar there called Leaping Horse Libations where you can get those adult beverages. ;) We usually rent the tandem bikes and do the loop around the whole Boardwalk, which has always been a lot of fun! In the mornings, we head to the Boardwalk Bakery for breakfast, and then walk the Boardwalk. It's a nice way to start the day if you have time. Often we end the day the same way, with dessert & a walk along the Boardwalk. It's a romantic resort I think, I hope you enjoy it! :)

Oh, and I have never heard about the ghost!! But I'm going to google that now!

Heading for the great escape.
Maybe the presence of a ghost explains why I found it soulless. Great location, fabulous pool, just thought it lacked ambiance, perhaps because all of the facilities are external and more of a WDW visitor attraction than a hotel amenity.

It is considerably better than Saratoga Retirement Community, but then what isnt?
