Boardwalk advantages over Beach Club?

For those who have stayed at both, what advantages if any, do you feel the Boardwalk has over the Beach Club? We've stayed a number of times at BC and love the pool and the location with the two minute walk to Epcot. I've seen some posters state that they prefer Boardwalk and was wondering why. Thanks!

I like Boardwalk better because of the pool. I like to swim laps, and I find Beach Clubs pool more like a water park attraction than a "real" pool

I also like the atmosphere of the Boardwalk area better. It is fun at night.

You state you love the pool at BC, so that argument is out. :)

I also like the proximity of the pool bar to the pool at Boardwalk. The atmosphere is also more relaxed around the Boardwalk pool for those time when you are trying to just relax.

I've never stayed at the beach club, but have stayed at the Boardwalk. We love the boardwalk atmosphere.

However, the time last we stayed we had a DVC Villa preferred view room over looking the boardwalk with a view of SSE. While it had a great a view, we found it was quite noisy at night. I'm talking like midnight and you can hear people laughing/yelling/etc... outside on the boardwalk. It was a tad annoying when you're trying to get a good nights sleep the day before your wedding. :)

This year we took a standard garden view room, so hopefully we'll hear a little less noise.

So just something to be aware of with picking a room type.

The only disadvantage for us (and many people disagree) is that the restaurants are outside the hotel proper. I didn't feel comfortable letting my youngest go for a snack by herself and there wasn't always somebody ready to take her when she wanted to go (and we didn't really care for the types of food offered). We didn't like having to share a bus with 4 other hotels, but we solved that by driving over ourselves.

We loved being so close to EPCOT and we had a top floor room above the Flying Fish overlooking the lake. It was very quiet except for the morning boat horn :lookaroun

We've stayed at both, the Boardwalk has the BEST atmosphere at night. We LOVE to watch the street performers. I think the pool is great too,the slide is fun and it's not as crowded as BC. We also like the intimacy of the Belle Vue Room, and enjoy the Flying Fish Cafe. The Crescent lake view can't be beat (our room was also right above the bakery and smelled WONDERFUL in the morning :slurp:). If you haven't tried it, give it a shot! You won't be disappointed:wave:.
On that note, our next Dis Trip is at BC:lol:

I like the Boardwalk better because it's quieter, and less crowded. I agree that the Beach Club pool is more of an attraction. While it is a very amazing pool - I have stayed there before too - I prefer the quietness of Boardwalk's Luna Pool. Plus, the circus theme + water slide at BW pool is also really cool. The pool bar is neat too.

I like the Boardwalk at night. It's all lit up, and is a beautiful place all on its own. It never felt like we were just going back to our room after the parks. It felt like we were in a whole different place going back to the boardwalk. My husband loves being by the ESPN Club. I love being able to easily walk to Fantasia minigolf/DHS & Epcot. Plus our room was beautiful, and was a free upgrade that they surprised us with. Can't complain about that :)

I have an album with a lot of Boardwalk pictures from May 09 if you want to take a look. It has pictures of our room/view/etc.

Thanks for the opinions guys. For now, the pool is a huge plus for us at the BC because my kids are 4 and 1, also the fact that the BC seems to be quieter is an advantage at this time as well. I can see in the future when our children are older that the BW will definately be a place for us to try out. The pics of the rooms look very nice.

My DH and I have stayed at the BW twice and the BC twice and we much prefer the BC! And not because of the pool - we've never tried either pool. We just think the BC is quieter and more relaxing. Most of all, we think the service and atmosphere is better at the BC. We did like the energy and fun of the BW at night, but we prefer to ride the boat over at night and return to the tranquility of the BC. (I know you can walk, but I'm old.) By the way, we also think The Flying Fish is one of the best kept secrets in WDW.

That's what we are doing...it's just a really long walk in fancy shoes:lol: (my crocs don't go too well w/ my "grown up" clothes:D)
We walk over from BC for meals, shops etc (in jewelled flipflops!) and like a BC room overlooking the BW and lake, so we have the best of both resorts without the crowds of BW when we want to sit on the beach at night.

We stayed at the Boardwalk years ago and it was the least memorable of our stays. I'm not sure what it was. Our room was completely white as I remember it (linens, cushions, etc). And I felt like the noise in the rooms carried, our son was very young at the time and I was very concerned that we were disturbing others. There was less going on outside at the time, so maybe it's more fun now.

We much prefer the YC. It's not as busy as the BC and has great views of the Boardwalk.
