BLT request....

I contacted MS a few weeks ago and requested (don't laugh), highest floor, north tower, odd numbered room. Please say a prayer for us. I don't know how everyone's experience has been with requests but a little extra help can't hurt right?

We made our reservation for a Lake View 2 Bedroom dedicated for January 25th through February 1st.

We requested high floor lake outside for this past Sept. Got high floor (9) lake view inside. Lots of pool noise inside the semi circle. Still it was great. Did request many months out, two weeks prior, and again at check in. For pics see my trip report.

I don't want to discourage you, but I had no luck my last trip down. We were only there for 3 nights so I sprung for the MK view room. My only request was as high a floor as possible. I made the request at the time of booking, verified about a week before the trip with a phone call and asked again at checkin. We got the 3rd floor. I complained at check-in hoping for a switch out, but the CR front desk guy made a phone call and then came back and told me no dice. We still had a decent view of the fireworks and the castle, but our balcony was almost on top of the little overhang on the front of the building and it was like hanging out in the parking lot sitting out there. We had fun with it anyway. I let my kids stand out there in their underwear and dance whenever someone was walking up to the front door. They enjoyed performing and I was hoping someone would complain and get us moved up. Unfortunately most of the people just thought it was funny and no one complained as far as I know. In my opinion anything below the 5th floor where the bridge to CR is should be considered standard view.

It was June and very crowded when I was there and I think maybe only being there 3 nights probably hurt my chances. They weren't going to bump someone staying for 2 weeks down to the 3rd floor for my 3 nights.

I love the upper level view facing the Contemporary to watch the sunrise and water traffic and the monorail coming and going. This trip I got 4 nights with a pool lake view and was unhappy the first night until I saw the moon in the middle of the night with a cheshire cat grin. My final night I was moved to the 6th floor with MK view and would never pay extra for theme park view... The view is parking lot with huge Space Mnt and small Castle view. In retrospect my advice would be to keep praying for your preference but happy knowing the view from every floor elevator is amazing. You can also go up to the Top of Tower for a surround viewing for your sunsets and fireworks and the view from the Bridge is wonderful also. You will be happy no matter what. I loved the convenience and location of the BLT. Exhausting and relaxing trip ...

I am with you. I don't think I will ever pay for a MK view again. If I get lucky and get an even number LV room on the north side of the tower that still has MK views that's a bonus. If not the lake views are still great. I will keep requesting a high floor, but I don't think they make much of an effort to honor requests anyway.

We've only done standard view at BLT, and it's been fine down there on the first floor. For the points, and the small amount of time that we actually spend in the room, I just couldn't justify hoping for a view of any kind. Theme park view costs nearly 40% more pointwise than standard view, and lake view is about 12% more. Do the math, and you'll find that the view can "cost" you an extra day or more of stay per week of vacation. For me, the # of days is the thing.

The only exception I've made is our one night studio stays at Animal Kingdom the night before our cruises. For one night, I'll pay an extra 3 or 4 points for the privilege of seeing African animals off my verandah.

An update to my last post. Just got back from BLT. We checked in at around 11am. The checkin person noted that I had requested a high floor. She said she would call and see if any rooms were ready yet. I told her I was not in a hurry and would wait for a room on a high floor. Nothing was ready, but she took my cell phone number and they sent me a text about an hour later when the room was ready. We got room 8641 which was on the top floor on the inside, closest to CR. They came through with my request. It was really nice to be on the floor with top of the world lounge. Made it convenient to stop over for fireworks or a drink. I guess it's hit or miss whether they can honor your request. Probably helped that we checked in early this time and it wasn't as crowded.
