Blog from inside the parks

I've always thought it would be fun to live in Orlando for a year and blog from within the parks, do video updates on construction projects, show pictures of unique things, etc. While I am not planning on doing this any time soon, I was wondering: what sort of things would you find interesting to read about from the parks? What would you want to see videos/pictures of when you can't be in the parks yourself? Any ideas?

How would this differ from the TouringPlans blog, the Orlando Attractions blog, the multiple AllEars blogs, as well as quite a few others?

These are not answers to the question being asked. These are more questions. Give him a break. Is it really that difficult to give a little information, instead of complaining that the question was asked.

I think you have the right ideas. People look to the post on this site and others, as well as, other blogs for information on things in general, that are going on when we are not there. It is why people rush to see photos of metal frame works thinking, this is where the entrance to the new Little Mermaid ride will be.

I was trying to help him focus his blog so that he wouldn't be lost amongst the others. Find something that the others aren't doing, or somehow do it in a different way, and then the blog will stand out and create a buzz and gain readership.

Post the same things about the same stories in the same fashion and it will be just another Disney oriented blog.

Let me begin by stating that I do not read blogs, so I'm not overly familiar with their form or style. If I were to become interested in such a thing, I think that I would look for the list below.

Daily weather reports (for the sake of comparison with the actual forecast).
Daily ride maintenance and construction reports.
Restaurant meal stories.
Quirky things involving people watching, etc.
Photos of things that are never seen, such as congested walkways to avoid.
A daily tidbit from a CM, whether it be true or false. Or perhaps just a nice CM "job well done" story.

I appreciate the feedback, and I agree with you. That's why I'm asking on here. I'm trying to find something that is different and isn't just "another Disney oriented blog." One that I really like that I've come across is a blog that focuses on pictures of various signs in the park, with a quick comment on their meaning.

How about a few nice human interest pieces. Pick a few random families and individuals and interview them about what brought them to Disney. How long it took them to save up for the trip, where they decided to stay, what parks or rides excite them or which ones are they looking forward to doing. How their trip is different than ones in the past.
Interview soms CM's. Ask how they came to work at the world. Their experiences, future plans, memorable guest interactions they have had.
Those things would be different and get peoples attention.

Interview some CM's.

2 notes:

- don't forget the families are on vacation - and that you may also need to get their permission/release to publish items, especially photos

- don't forget the CM's have a job to do.

As long as you keep those things in mind, these are great ideas!

I like it too. Like DisneyJoe says though you would just have to be thoughtful about which families you decide to approach. Keep the interview short and be sure to state your intentions kindly upfront. A good spot would be by any of the mountain rides where a lot of family members opt not to ride. Definitely always a cool idea to do something creative, way to be!
