Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon

We have a 4 yr old and 7 yr old...which would be the best? We may have an extra day and we ALWAYS say we want to go to one of the water parks but never make it.

It’s a tough decision. They’re both great! For family rides and particularly for raft rides, I prefer Typhoon Lagoon. However the wave pool there is extreme. The waves are very powerful and if kids get knocked over, they’re likely to get grazes from the rough pool floor. Blizzard beach has some more extreme slides.

I recommend watching the Tim Tracker videos on Utube for each to help you decide.

It’s also worth checking height restrictions on the Disney website.

From what Ive seen blizzard beach is probably the best for us with the littles. But I wanted to see if anyone had been to both and had a clear winner. I'll look up those videos for sure!!

I’m sure you’ll have a great day whichever you choose. Both have great theming. The videos will definitely help you choose.

Easy choice for me: I prefer the theming and layout of Typhoon Lagoon.
Yeah I've watched those videos recommend above and it seems there much more to do at typhoon.
I'm struggling to do what's best for the kids and what me and my husband will have the most fun with. My mom will be with us and she's great about letting us sneak off for a few rides here and there. As long as Typhoon lagoon has a good kid section that's all that matters.

Ok so the videos I've watched I think I like blizzard beach better for the kids. Typhoon lagoon section was a little...dry for me. Aside from the baby tube ride that was adorable.

Glad they helped you to decide. They’re both a lot of fun.
Yes absolutely! I think typhoon lagoon had better theming and more rides (it seems newer??) But, at the end of the day, the kiddie area and wave pool will be where we are the most. We get big waves enough at the real beach where we live lol!

If you search these boards, you’ll see there are loads of threads asking the same question. In my mind, bottom line comes down to theming. They both have family raft rides, rides for little kids, waves, and more adventurous rides. It’s more a question of ambience. BB is more unique, but TL is one of the most stunning places at WDW, from my perspective.

I vote Blizzard Beach. They have some really cool kid areas over there, Tikes Peak for the four year old and then Ski Patrol Training for the seven year old. The family raft ride at Blizzard Beach is fantastic. The kids should be able to do the mat races as they don't drop off into a pool. The Red Slope has the inner tube slides which can be done with two people if one or both of the kids isn't a strong swimmer. I also prefer the lazy river at Blizzard Beach. The one at Typhoon Lagoon isn't deep enough; too easy to scrape your feet at the bottom.

Typhoon Lagoon is definitely better once they get older. I personally love swimming out to the deep part of the wave pool and riding in the waves from there. And then Humanga Cowabunga and Crush 'n Gusher are awesome. There are more body slides at Typhoon Lagoon, which you have to be a strong swimmer to do. I've seen some younger kids get on and get really terrified. I'd save that one for when your kids are closer to 10 and 7.
