Birthdays @ WDW

I paid for the remainder of my trip this morning :sohappy: and I got a wonderful CM on the phone who, without me asking, went through all my PS's and requests from the resort. He asked me who's birthday was happening on our trip - I'm sure during my bazillion phone calls to Disney Reservations, I told them about my birthday. I have this tendancy (so very irrititating to my children) to just babble on.

In a nutshell, I said it was mine, he asked me to hold on, did some things to my ressies and said, "I don't know what will happen, but be prepared for some suprises."

Hmmmm ... any Disney experts want to clue me in on what happens at people's birthdays at WDW? I'm assuming it's along the same line at what happens at *normal* restaurants if you alert them of a birthday in your dining party.

The first thing you should do when you walk into Magic Kingdom is go to City Hall and tell them it is your birthday.

They will give you a button that says "Today is my Birthday" and (perhaps) make a call to Goofy, who will wish you a special day.
They did this for my son who was turning 14 and he was mortified ! Made it worthwhile for me (insert evil laugh :drevil: )

Throughout the day CM's will wish you Happy B'day. At your PS, they will bring you this enormous cupcake with about 3 inches of frosting on top and perhaps a balloon. (you will also get another birthday button)

I think it is really special to get so many birthday greetings throughout the day--even my teenager liked it. Just a little pixie dust....

Have a great trip!

WDW Borthdays are brilliant.

And there's nothing like being wished a Happy Bithday by 200 people standing outside of Alien Encounter, all at once.

Big thanks to a CM named Tanya for that one!!! Made my day!
