Let the front desk know you will be celebrating his special day when you check in. He may just be surprised with a few goodies in the room 
.
Make sure you get him the "Its My Birthday Pin" and tell them when you check in for all meals, many times the CMs willgo out of their way to make the meals special.

Birthdays at WDW...
We just had a birthday at WDW on May 26th for my youngest son, who also turned 4. We let the front desk know a few days before hand and they had balloons and a Birthday Card with a signed photo of Mickey and Minney in it.
Also, as stated above, make sure he gets his "It's my birthday today" pin at all of the parks. They have the same pin at both the Magic Kingdom & Disney MGM Studios and there are different pins for Epcot and the Animal Kingdom. He enjoyed being told Happy Birthday about 100 times that day
by the Cast Members in the various parks and on the resort transportation systems.
At all of the sit down resturants in the resort, they see the pin and bring out a cupcake with a candle in it for each meal.
It makes their birthday just that more special.
