Birthday Surprises?

So we are going to be in WDW for my son's 10th birthday and we know about the autographed pics in your room, but the cast member that helped us book advised us to have him wear his button. What should I expect to experience in the parks. My son isn't exactly the most outgoing and isn't the center of attention type.

He'll get happy birthdays and some may ask him how old he is.

Yup...its pretty laid back actually. Laid back in a good way though.

It all depends. Mostly just happy birthdays from all the CM's. If you have ADR's at any sit down resturaunts be sure to note our your reservation that it is his birthday. He will get a b-day cupcake and they will sing to him.

Once we were there for my DS birthday and he really wanted to ride Peter Pan, but FP's were gone for the day and there was NO WAY I was standing in line for 60+ minutes. The CM working there heard our conversation and came up to my son and asked him if he wanted to ride Peter Pan to which he replied YES!! She goes well come with me... She walked us right up to the front on the line and put us on the ride right then and there and said Happy Birthday!!! It was such a magical moment. This happened in 2008 and my DS STILL talks about!

My DD received treats in the bakeries and a captain's hat and singing of 'Happy Birthday' on one of the boats from Wilderness Lodge to MK.

And the plus side is, if he's really shy and is not liking all the attention from Cast Members then he can take his button off. But do have him wear it to any table service, what boy turns down a free cupcake?
