Birthday help

We decided to book a trip over the week of Christmas this year. With the way things were this year we ended up booking later than we usually do. We just planned on eating quick service and at our hotel throughout the week. Our daughter surprised us with a request for her birthday. She would like to eat dinner at the 50s prime time. All reservations for any sit down at Hollywood are booked for the day. Has anyone had luck calling and asking to be put on a waitlist or talking with guest services?

Use the reservation finder on the Touring Plans site. It is amazing! I have found every reservation I have ever wanted utilizing it.
You fill in the reservation you want, time date, etc. And if something opens up it will notify you via txt and or email.
But, little word of caution. As soon as you see it act quickly. For this past trip I was notified while driving and by the time I pulled over and tried to log on it was gone. (I did get another notice when I re-requested and was successful that time).

Typically trying to get dining over Christmas week can be pretty difficult because of so many guests at WDW for the holidays. Adding to that will be the larger crowds due to TSL & SW land. We have had luck in the past by checking in with the hostess and they happened to get us in because of a cancelled party, at the latter part of the evening... we were only 3 people also. So it can happen if you are asking in the right time and luck is on your side. And as always keep checking because trips do get cancelled all the time, with Covid going on there may be guests reconsidering their trips.

Definitely try this. You’ll need an account, but they have a free version. We were there for Christmas 2018 and got all the dining reservations we wanted for our large group (8 or 9 of us, I can’t remember exactly).
