Birthday Gift Basket Ideas

Hi everyone,

We're taking my dad to WDW with us in Oct. This will be his first trip and I'm wanting to try to make it as memorable for him as possible. His birthday is at the end of August and we're putting together a WDW gift basket for him. So far we've got him a Whispering Canyon shirt, a gift card so he has some spending money, an autograph book, magic band and a water bottle. We're trying to think of things he'll need in the park, or ways to make it more memorable for him.

He's done so much for us these last few years that we don't want him to have to worry about spending any money at all during the trip.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Thank you!

Nice gesture. I am a fan of practical stuff in gift baskets. Perhaps some gel insoles for his shoes, some moisture wicking socks and underwear, some healthy snack bars, coffee and most important, a copy of the Unofficial Guide.

Maybe a small backpack or waist pack, bandaids in case of blisters, anti-chaffing balm, maybe some Advil in case he’s sore from all the walking. Also maybe a disposable camera, hat, sunglasses, sunblock.

Not knowing what he might like to do on your trip... I'd make up a series of gift certificates telling him youd pay for a boat rental, Character in flight balloon ride, mini golf outing at both courses. I'd find and put in a few of the older Disney DVDs from his youth that he hasnt seen in years for him to watch. Add in a book on Disney history, a book on hidden mickeys, a book about Walt. Order a pin lanyard with set of pins for him to trade. Spring for a tour that he might like to go on. the list can go on depending on how much you want to be spending.

And don't forget the blister band-aids...how about a new pair of sneakers?
