Billy Connolly

I was just walking back to Bond Street tube station when I saw Billy Connolly talking to some geezer on the street (before anyone says anything, I know it's easier to speak to someone on the phone). He's a lot bigger in 'real life' than he appears to be on the TV. A bunch of people were admiring a bronze sculpture of two old men sitting on a bench and didn't notice Billy at all. I think they must have been from overseas.

When I go on the tube, who sat opposite me but the indian girl from "This Life".

It's like waiting for a bus. you don't see one celeb for ages and then two come along at once!

Met anyone famous recently?

I've met a few celebs at work, I'm in charge of VIP hospitality at an airport. I have to tell you most of them are gits!, they really think they are something special. The ones that dont have their heads up their backsides though just want to be treated like any other passenger, they get bored of the attention and just like to be left alone occassionaly.

I think that Billy Connoly had a failed sit-com over here about 5 yrs ago, if it's the same guy I'm thinking of. (Is he a Scot, comedian?) The show lasted about 2 episodes, before it was cancelled.

Doubt Billy's accent/humour would travel that well.
I saw Grant Mitchell (cant remember his real name) when i went shopping in london in July...he must wear a lot of make-up on tv:veryconfu :animwink:

I was wondering when "who's Billy Connolly" would appear. He is a Scottish comedian but one of those that tell stories about his upbringing and about his experiences generally. He is fantastic at looking at situations and getting something out of them and he generally has me in fits of laughter. He does like to throw in the odd expletive, odd being every other word, but somehow, I don't find it offensive. You really have to see him doing stand-up rather than in a sit-com. I think quite a bit of what he does is ad-libbed, so it wouldn't transfer to a sit-com.

Captain Hook

No, the goatee's gone. It's the first thing I looked for when I saw him.

Everyone else

He's recently done some really good travelogues, riding around countries on a 3-wheeled motorbike. The one in Australia is superb. They are all a mix of him exploring the culture, cut together with him doing one night only shows in the different cities visited.
