I just got back from a four day Disney vacation and thanks to this website and some of my own investigation, I was able to experience several attractions that don't open until May 5.

Yes Soarin' runs several times daily, usually between 3:00pm and 7:00pm. I was able to ride it twice, and it was phenomenal! A breathtaking experience with so many special effects, I could hardly tell it was just a ride.

Lights, Motors, Action was running several dress rehearsals each day, and usually the standby line got in with no problems. Fast Passes were also distributed, and you it didn't affect other Fast Passes, meaning you could get one for the stuntshow and then walk over to Star Tours and get another one immediately!

Finally, Cinderellabration was shown six or seven times each day at the Magic Kingdom, depending on the weather, which was most bizarre this week. The costumes are brilliant and the castle looks great with the gold trim and spires.

*** One problem with the spires... Tinkerbell did NOT fly from the top of Cinderella Castle. I noticed that there were spires around the area that she usually comes out. I was very disappointed! ***

hmm

She still does fly with wishes if thats what you are talking about, the bad windy rainy weather and lightning are a factor in her not taking flight not the new addition to the castle

Umm- a few smells... a little breeze... What are the "so many" special effects that you're talking about? Breeze effects have been used in rides for countless decades, and smell is nothing new either... Heck Horizons used the same orange smell in the same park 20 years earlier...

Sorry - I'm just curious since you "could hardly tell it was just a ride" I'm hoping you could elaborate?

awesome is soarin scary ?

Soarin is the polar opposite of "scary".
I think modern folks worry too much about this sort of thing and don't experience some of the greatest rides in Disney because they worry too much about things being scary or "too rough." I think if more people gave things a try, they would just love them.

I snapped out of that attitude on a trip to Disneyland many years ago and since then I try everything at least once and I haven't found anything Disney I don't like yet.

What's the story with bringing this guy down. He's all excited about this and thanking this site for information that helped him get in these attractions before they officially open. There's no need to flame him.

Hey Mickey Maniac, glad you had a great time!!

I for one am glad you enjoyed your trip, despite the less-than-perfect weather we've been having lately.

It's obvious you were just enthusiastic about being able to experience some of these new additions, as I would be as well. With that said, don't be discouraged to continue posting, and just disregard the handful of rude people on these boards.

For future reference, maybe you should simply run a search on the boards to see if your topic has already been brought up, or pick a more specific section of the boards such as trip reports, chit-chat, etc. :)

Nope - they are posting their thoughts on something they have just experienced. I'm happy to read that they enjoyed the attractions, especially given the negativity that has been swamping the boards lately.

Yes, I agree with that. Some people just plain out need to have a better attitude torwards others. I mean come on, all the poor guy is doing is sharing his wonderful ride experiences??? Why do you have to put a damper on it?

Glad you had a great time Mickey Maniac!

WOW....you got me thinking with this one.

I LOVE the attraction as I experienced it in California last summer.

It's not scary in a "BOO! A Monster just jumped out and grabbed me" kind of way. Though, after reading your question, I suddenly felt that it could actually be scary in a "I'm afraid of heights and get motion sickenss easily" sort of way!

It's a simulated hang-glider flight over beautiful landscape and breathtaking scenery in front of an IMAX movie screen complete with special effects to compliment the experience. While beautiful, I bet some people will get the same feeling they get in some of those 360-degree circle vision theaters!

It's no "Hang-Glider of Terror", but some could still find it "scary".

Does Soarin end with you flying over Disneyland like in the original. Just wondering if they left that part in since it is Disneyland's birthday.
