Big 2 Year Old Girl and Turnstiles

Our daughter is only just turned two years old, but is extremely tall. (She ways 3/4 year old cloths already!)

I'm worried that we might get problems with CMs at the turnstiles who think she should have a ticket for the park.

We've photocopies her passport for ID, as I don't want to have to carry her real passport through the parks incase it gets lost.

Anyone got any tips on this one?

I wouldn't worry about it. We've never had a problem with our DS who is very tall for his age too. He's 42" and almost 4. When we went last time, right before his 3rd birthday, no one questioned us at all. It was a great trip, he was able to go on most of the big thrill rides and we didn't have to pay for him to get in :)

We were worried too about getting questioned. The first few times through the turnstile we carried him in so they wouldn't notice how tall he was. But after we noticed that no one even looked twice at him, he walked in on his own.

I agree. Both of my girls were tall for their age and nobody ever asked about them. Carry the photocopy if you'd like, but I don't think you will need it. Just relax and enjoy the trip.

When my now 14 year old had just turned 3 we were going to Disneyland at a time when my ex and I had VERY little money so we wanted to squeeze one more trip there without having to pay for her (she had been 3 only about a week). My sister carried her into the park and I told her to tell the CM that she was just about to turn 3 if they asked. Well when she was going into the park the CM did ask her and my sister said "Oh she is just about to turn 2 ( )" (in other words she was still 1!) The CM didn't even blink and let her through. I wanted to clobber my sister! Boy were we lucky!

Years ago when my daughter was almost 3, we went with another couple whose daughter (same age) was 4 times the size of mine. We carried our kids in, the CM's didn't pay her any attention. I think you will be okay.

b/t/w - Today they are 12. My daughter is still petite (wears a size 10 in kids clothing) and my friends daughter is still 4 times bigger (wears a size 12 in adult clothing). NOW when we go to a resturant and the cashier asks how old they are, they always question my friend. The kids end up convincing them that they are the same age

My daughter 2nd from right in avatar was almost 3 in that picture. We were questioned at both MK and MGM (during that trip) about her age. Going through the gates at MK I told them she was still 2 and the initial CM let us through, but a second CM confronted me and said there was no way she was younger than 3. Fortunetly my wife had just taken her to the doctor right before we left home and had her short records with her and it had her birthdate. She apologized and then gave her a cool trading pin. MGM was less painfull, I was questioned at the gate, I told them she was 2, he said no way, I told him I'm 6'3", pointed to my wife who's 5'10". He then nodded his head and let us in.

We have a tenny tiny 2 year old (thank goodness for my back.) We went for 10 days last trip, at least 2 parks a day. Once a CM did ask if she had a ticket. We were so surprized, it was the 1st time anyone even questioned us. We just stated no she is only 2 and went right in. (she is short enough to walk right under the turnstyles on rides.)

If it makes you feel better, bring something with a prof of brith date, but I won't worry about it. Most cast members wouldn't dare be wrong in confrounting a guest and making their day less then magical.

Our next trip she will be closer to 3 (but still a few months away.) I expcet some questions then, but I am not worried about it at all.

Be sure to let your server know at restrants that she is under 3 at all you can eat places.

Don't worry!!! When my son was 2 he was wearing size 4 clothes. We never had a problem or question raised.

They expect you to just be honest. No one is crazy enough to start questioning you, it would take away the magic and their job to boot!!

Thanks for the input everyone. The reason I raised this query was because of something that mkt said in this thread about some newer CM's being a little OTT about ID's.

To be honest I will be more than happy to embarrass an unkind CM and request a supervisor if they do try and be funny about her. The majority of CM's are the best, but every so often you get one who wants to be an a$$.

Hey. As a former park greeter (turnstyle operator) i can tell you that you won't have a problem. If you tell the CM that she is 2, they will have to let her in. They might not beleive you, but they will have to let her in for free. You could always show them the copy of the passport if its important to you that the CM believe you, but it won't be a problem. When i was a greeter i saw and had to let through some of the largest two year olds you can imagine.

 Thanks Bamboo7, I'll remember that. Funnily enough it is omportant to me that they believe us. I just hate the thought that they might think we're trying to pull a fast one.
