Biergarten

I just made a PS for the Biergarten. I looked over the menu and not much appeals to me and the price seems high. But the entertainment and the reviews seem like a plus.

Any comments on Biergarten.?

The food is good and the dessert is really good. The apple strudel is especially yummy. It's a different experience, you are seated at a table with 8 seats or so. So you may end up sitting with people you don't even know (it only adds to the experience). As for entertainment, it's okay. When I was down there, they played a couple of songs every now and then and that was pretty fun.

We went to the Biergarten in 2000 and we liked it a lot! The entertainment was fun and the food was very good! The only gripe I had was that they charged us full price for my 1 year old who hardly ate a thing (I asked if they had kid prices and the hostess said no everyone gets charged the same thing). All in all I would go again!

I thought the food was OK, on a scale of 1-5, I would give it a 3. I'm used to eating German food on a weekly basis though. When we were there the music was played for about 15 min. every hour or so. It was a neat experience eating and drinking beer with 6 people we didn't know, we had a very nice conversation and got to know everyone. They had big steins of Becks to go with our meal, so that was good as I love beer.

The food used to be alot better. The last few times we went, we really didn't like it too much. I don't think they do a full show anymore during lunch hours but the entertainment is really good.

Homer242, I'm really surprised they charged you full price for your 1 year old. We had our 2 yr old with us and they didn't charge us anything. I think most, if not all, the buffets have a "policy" of not charging for kids under 2. We've even eaten at some of the sit down restaurants and they didn't charge us for his meal.

All I can say is yum! :slurp:

My husband and I ate here last week for lunch - we had a late lunch knowing that this was going to be our main meal. So, considering we like German food and that it was $13.95 all you can eat, I thought it was a very good deal. I thought the spetzle, bratwurst, and apple strudel were the best! They also had entertainment playing while we were eating the entire time.

The last time I ate there I wasn't too impressed with the food, but thought that the atmosphere and entertainment were good. I just don't think I'd want to spend that kind of money again only for the atmosphere and the entertainment.

You are right-every restaurant we went to before this didn't charge us a dime for her. I think pretty much everywhere you go (inside Disney and out) they don't charge for children under 3(that is unless you order something from the kids menu). At the time I thought well it is in the German Pavillion so it probably run differently than the rest of Disney. I don't know if this is true or not (probably not) but I guess it was a gaff on our part for not pushing the issue!

The last time I was there (12/00) I thought that the food had improved, but like everything else this can change from night to night. A few things to keep in mind if eating there. There are 3 levels comming back from the stage and going up like an amplitheater. If you are looking for a nice quite, romantic dinner this is not the place. If you want to watch a great show and have some great food this is the place. You will be sharing a table with others, the tables hold 8, if you have 6 or more you may end up with you own table. I can be loud, ask for a table far away from the stage if it matters to you. The show runs for about 30 minutes and then you have relaitive quiet for 30 minutes.

Well we ate there about a week ago. Our group included a 2yr old that we didnt have to pay for.(..and she got the same plastic take home cup with lid and straw) so we had 2,5,8,11,14 and three adults. The show starts at 1pm. The food was excellent there was something everyone liked...they have ham and potatoes etc for pickey eatters but ours loved the German food. Personally I love the spaetzle, the cheesecake is to die for and so is the Apple stru. Our party of eight didnt have ressies and we were seated quickly. This restr., Sci-Fi and the breakfast at Cinderellas are the ones the kids are still talking about...so if you have never tried it I recommend giving it a try. you might want to eat a late lunch..its all you can eat..then you may only want a light snack instead of a full dinner...this is what we did...saved us a bit of cash ~
