Our girls will be 4 and 2 when we go in Dec. I'm planning on getting them both princess costumes, but only the 4 year old is eligible for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. I understand she'll get a princess sash. Does anyone know if there's any other way of getting an extra sash? i.e. do they sell them? or has anyone ever asked a CM for an extra and gotten one? Just fearing the jealous rage.

Another option is to skip the sash altogether. My DD has her first appt at BBB this summer and I am planning on not getting the sash just because I don't like how it looks. The only reason they use them is for advertising...I am pretty sure I've never seen a Disney princess wear a beauty pageant sash!

I looked into it and, personally, I'd save your money. The reason I say this is cause just about every child we've seen in their dresses at the parks are miserable and the dress is dirty. To get the dress, you have to do the ~$189 package. Those dresses are about $50 at the Disney store at the mall. The hair style is a simple bun with glitter spray($5 at claires) or with funky braid scrunchie hair($4 at most stores). As for sashes, you can also get those at claires for about $5 a piece. I looked into it cause the Pirate version is so cheap but the princess one is just nuts. I'd rather have princess time with my DDs myself and do their hair is really great styles with glitter AND color sprays and get sashes and tiaras from claires. Im not doing the dresses at all as, like I said, they get ruined. I'd be upset if a $189 dress had juice running down the front, dirt at the knees, and a tear on the chest KWIM? Costumes don't clean easily. My girls would be really upset that it was ruined, too. Also, both of your girls would be able to do it together. I have a 2yr old that loves to be like her 6yr old sister but wouldn't be able to participate. Doing it with them gets them both some mommy time while getting to do it together and maybe even spray and "do" each other up!

I plan to take a kit. I will have hair glitter, hair color sprays, tiaras, sashes, real make up in little girl colors with tutus. They will do each other up (with mommy's help) in our rooms. they will have just as much fun, if not more, than going to a strange place having some stranger pulling on their hair(my girls have tight curls) and a bunch of other kids running around so they can't really get attention.

I totally agree The last time we went I bought my daughter the Ariel costume and wig at World of Disney. It ran me close to 100 when all was said and done. She wore the wig for all of 20 minutes and than I put her hair up in a bun and we had also purchases one of the tiara combs. She looked great and I saved my myself $100. My sister took my niece the following year and took her to the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique. The bun was so tight that she complained until my sister took it out. It lasted all of 30 minutes. I'm sure what you want is that experience for the girls and that I understand, but you can actually get them 2 whole outfits for that price or just use the extra to do something special or get some extra Disney souviners. No matter what you do, have a wonderful trip with your princesses.

I totally agree that the dresses are overpriced. Some of my DD's cutest princess dresses are $20 from Target, and sometimes you get lucky and catch a great sale at a Disney Store.

But I do think the experience itself is worth the money. We are doing the smallest package (I think is is around $50?). Sure, I could do it much cheaper myself, but we do that almost daily at home! There is hardly a day that goes by where my dd does not ask me to play "beauty shop". So for us, doing it with our own stuff in the hotel room would not be very magical or special...I'm not saying it would not be fun...but it would not be any different than what we do at home all of the time. But getting the royal treatment at BBB in the Castle by the Fairy Godmothers in Training....THAT is well worth the $50 to me.

Thanks!!! All really great suggestions and thoughts!!!
I'd heard that with the sash, CMs address your kids as princesses all day- so the price of the sash might be worth it for the royal treatment.

I was planning on buying costumes in advance to save some $$$ (although I don't think I can resist the sequined bags) and just do the coach or crown pkg. Ideally, I'd like to do BBB in the MK before lunch at CRT (and then back to the hotel to change into comfy clothes and nap time), but we'll see what ADRs I get when we're 180 days out. Ultimately, it's a lot of $ to pay for glitter and an overtight bun. Plus while I know some kids that have loved it- it was pure torture for others.

Lots to think about. Thanks again!!!
