Beware of on property free WiFi

Last night my boyfriend had discovered that his laptop was hacked into. He can only assume that it was because of the wifi that is open and everyone can see everyone's connections. If you are using this service, beware that people on vacations here at WDW are not being very honest and breaking into the backdoor of the computers and possibly stealing your information. It does say a warning stating that it's possible that other people can view you information. Really? I didn't think to the point where people would hack in just to get your information. I will be using my secure hotspot thank you very much. It's pretty bad when you go on vacation and you have to deal with this.

But, you can't blame Disney. It's being on the Internet on any network that is the issue. The virus writers and hackers sending out Trojans work hard to entice people to click links etc so their malware gets downloaded and as shown by major secure networks, it is possible to get around any security.

And saying the computer was OK before Disney really isn't relevant for two reasons. First, as said, it can happen on any network and two some hack Trojans don't activate immediately as a way to avoid detection. They sit there and activate on some cue or at some time later or the hacker activates it when they want to attack. For all you know, the hack was installed at home.[/quote]

Tis true! Good point.
