Better at WDW or DL?

I apologize, in advance if there is already a thread on this topic (I did a search and couldn't find one), but of the attractions that exist at both DL and WDW, which do you consider superior? For example, here is my list:

Fantasmic! - Significantly superior at DL. Although the viewing area does not represent the best crowd control planning at a Disney park, it actually works because it makes the whole show seem even larger and more grand. At WDW, you're in an ampitheater and it feels like your just looking down on all the action (as opposed to being immersed in it like at DL). Also, at DL they make excellent use of existing attractions to be a part of the show (Mark Twain and Sailing Ship Columbia). At WDW, the steamboat just looks like a cheap prop.

Space Mt - Considerably better at DL. It is a much smoother ride and the soundtrack rocks! Plus the special effects are better. At WDW, the special effects are nothing more than shooting stars and the occasional "chocolate chip cookie" asteroid flying by. However, the exterior building itself is much prettier at the WDW version.

Big Thunder - Better at WDW. The track is a mirror image of the DL version but I am pretty sure the trains are actually longer. That makes the ride seem faster. Plus the WDW version has the flooded mining town of Tumbleweed and other scenery that is better than the DL version.

Honey I Shrunk the Audience - Of course the show itself is identical at both locations, but I think the preshow at WDW is better.

Splash Mountain - Vastly superior at WDW. The DL version is a great ride but if you look up, it is obvious you are inside a big show building. At WDW, they do a much better job of hiding that. Plus, the WDW includes a lot of the show elements that were omitted from the DL version because of budget cuts.

Haunted Mansion - Slight edge to the DL version because the queue line is better and the exterior is prettier. Also, I'm not sure if the WDW version has this, but on the DL version, if you look at the upper windows at night, you'll see a ghostly candle moving from room to room. I love cool details like that!

Pirates of the Caribbean - Slight edge to DL version, except the queue line at WDW is MUCH better and more entertaining (I love the two skeletons playing chess!).

Tom Sawyer Island - Better at WDW. More tunnels and hidden nooks and crannies to explore.

Small World - Ride basically identical (from what I can tell) but the show building exterior is an awesome sight at DL, where the WDW version looks no more elaborate than one of the dark rides.

Castle - WDW's is much more impressive. DL's looks like a miniature golf course castle by comparison.

I agree with all of those except two...

The Pre-show for Honey, I shrunk the Audience, I like much better at DL. for one, it's not a blatant commercial for Kodak, but rather the Behind the Scenes of the Inventor of the Year award show.

#2, Space Mountain, I like the WDW version better, not only was it the original, but I also like the fact that the rockets have lower sides, so it feels like you will flip out on the turns, and its good for a back massage. I love the original White on the exterior, but I also like the bronze/gold that is the one at DL too.

I have to add that I think Small World is better at DL. The WDW version seems all mixed up. All the different regions of the world are mixed together in sort of a mish-mash so I never really got a sense of what part of the world I was supposed to be in as the boat moved from room to room. DL is much clearer about where you are.

Other attractions not mentioned yet;

Peter Pan - I thought the paint was much brighter at DL.

Snow White - It always bugged me how DL's version ended w/ the witch falling off the cliff and then you see that sign "and they lived happily ever after." What kind of resolution is that? I was happy to find WDW's version adds to the end the scene w/ Snow White and the Prince.

Tiki Room - I'm sorry, but that New Management thing at WDW has got to go. It's a great idea horribly executed. Self-mockery can be funny, but it just ends up dripping w/ sarcasm, and Iago is one of the least endearing of Disney characters. I thought it ironic that in order to prove they are not outdated, they sung two outdated 80's pop tunes. Not even an original song written for this new version. To be fair, I thought the preshow was funny, and I liked the idea of rapping the original "Tiki Room" song.

Country Bears - WDW has the original version which I prefer to the DL "Vacation Hoedown" version.

Since I live less than 1 hour from WDW, and just went to Disneyland this past summer, here is my opinion. I feel that in most cases where we have the same rides (classic) the DL versions are much better. The HM stretching room rocked at DL, so did the Pirates. We were unable to go on Small World because it was closed for refurbishment, however, we will revisit in 2004 to do that. Space Mountain is much better at DL (the ride portion) especially because my 42 in. tall daughter could go on it due to the seating config. She cannot go on the one here at WDW yet. Fantasmic, I disagree, and I like the differences. It was neat how DL used the Columbia and Mark Twain, but at WDW I felt immersed in the action. Also, the "steam ship" at WDW is very much like the Steamboat Willie boat. I love both places, but I live near one of them. We will go back to DL again in 04, and 05 for the 50th anniversary.

I made my third trip to DL this summer and fell in love with the place. Aside from the weather being beautiful we really liked that you could get a lot of attractions from multiple WDW parks in on DL park. I think that DL has the edge in the following attractions:

1) Haunted Mansion - Better ride, better building, better land location.
2) PotC - Longer ride, better sound
3) Peter Pan - More interesting,better colors
4) Tiki Room - Old show still a classic
5) Easier to get around in. Smaller footprint but great space utilization.

WDW has better:

1) Space Mountain - I just like it better
2) Splash Mountain - I hate the DL logs
3) BTMRR - Just seems better
4) Jungle Cruise - Seems longer

I have only been to DL 3 time and I've been to WDW about 20 times so my observations may be skewed simply because the DL rides are somewhat different and seem fresher.

DL is better because:

-Fantasyland LOOKS better. the facades are themed to each attraction.
-Small World is a palace and the ride sequence follows a trip around the world. MK is like a glorified dark ride.
-HM is unique, and spookier. MK looks like something from a Scooby Doo cartoon.
-POTC has more caves and a better ending.
-TIKI room is STILL the original. and the best :)
-Splash has a better setting. I don't like it sandwiched in the middle of Fronteirland at MK.
-Alice WITH the teacups makes a better attraction.
-Indiana Jones... still the best attraction in the world.

WDW is better because:

-Adventureland was better until they added Alladin.
-Main Street is impressive, but DL is more small town feeling.
-Tomorrowland is much better! DL is like a bombed out war zone.
-Space Mountain, is SO much better. size, queue, ride, post show. DL is ultra tacky 70's.
-Alien Encounter is a much better use of the the old Mission to Mars building.
-Peoplemover/TTA will always hold a special place in my heart.

I forgot to compare the dark rides. And you are right about the ones you compared. Especially Snow White. That "ending" always bugged me too. On that note, Mr Toad was better at WDW because I like to two tracks.

Totally agree about Tiki Room (except that I never really visit that one anymore at either park). But I think Iago is an incredibly annoying character. I'm sure the fact that he's voiced by Gilbert Gottfried has absolutely NOTHING to do with that!

I wish I had a chance to experience Mr. Toad at WDW w/ the two tracks. By the time of my first visit ever, Pooh had been around for several months.
