I'm stayin at this resort, is it nice?

I was gonna stay at this resort for our trip in 2 weeks. I got a discount via work on it. From the pics and what I've read, it seems to be one of the nicer "budget" hotels in the area.

However, I ended up switching to the Royal Plaza hotel for about $300 for a nicer room with whirlpool tub. :king:

We stayed there in August

for our arrival night, and the next day/night. Location is good, as it is not far from the AK resort area. It is also near several off site shopping/eating places, including a Wendy's and a drug store within walking distance. A Publix is about a mile or two away.

The on site breakfast buffet is good, and they also have a pick up and go food place, including on site Pizza Hut Express.

Landscaping is nice for the price range, as are the pools. The free Putt Putt they advertise is there, but it looks like you get about what you pay for there. I am sure other places near by are much better for a greens fee.

Rooms include a good size fridge, and can accommodate 5 if you request a roll away. This was our reason for staying there. (We were a party of nine). We just wanted a place to stay/sleep while we waited for our on site DVC stay to begin. 2 rooms here was a better deal than 3 rooms at a Disney Value resort for our short term needs.

That being said, if all other things (cost, etc.)are about equal, I would opt for Pop Century instead, particularly for a longer stay. BW Lakeside is what it is, a Best Western. And it is good at what it is, a value for your money. I would go back if the price was right and it met my needs.

Anything with the name Best Western, I would not call a resort.

Anyway, you're going to be spending most of your time on property anyway, so this is merely a place to rest your weary bones.
