we are thinking of staying here on the night before our WDW vacation starts and the night it ends. we are driving so we can stay there for 1/2 the price of a Disney hotel. we only plan on going to DTD and sleeping there the night before ours starts. Also plan on sleeping there the end of our trip before driving home the next day.
Main concerns,
is it clean?
are the rooms quiet?
bonus: is free breakfast offered?
any other info appreciated!
thanks,
mikewdw

I'm offering this sort of second hand as it was not myself, but my parents who stayed there. But they did stay there just three weeks ago.

There is an in-hotel Restaurant, but no free breakfast. They had no problems with noise levels, but they said the amount of people at the hotel seemed low. They did find the hotel generally old, tired and run down looking. They said the public areas look like they haven't been updated since the 90's, and their room was in similar shape. They were told, however, some rooms had been recently renovated with more to come. The only things they liked about it was having a balcony where they could see some of the fireworks and being within walking distance to DTD. The free wireless internet was also a bonus for them.

I'll close by saying they were only there for two nights, on a "Stopover" before going on a cruise. They picked it because they got it for "Free" on frequent flier points and wanted a place close to DTD. They only wanted a bit of Disney, with no intention of going to the parks on their short stay. They told me it would not be their first choice for another stopover (they frequently go on cruises) and would definitely avoid it if they were staying for a long period, such as a full trip to WDW. At least not till it's renovated fully.

You might want to try the Holiday Inn at DTD, that has just come out of a big reno project. See http: //forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=552189 for more.

We stayed there for a night during MVMCP. It was reasonably priced and clean. There's a restaurant but no free breakfast. What is (or was a few months ago) free however is parking, which can no longer be taken for granted. My sister and family were staying at the Hilton across the street for their second year in a row and free parking had vanished in the interim. That (and cost) are the main reasons we opted for the BW instead.

We didn't really notice any noise, but I kept the AC fan running so any external noise would have been drowned out by that.

Bottom line, it's nothing fancy but it's a clean safe place to sleep. You're not going to get mugged, or sick, and if it's only for a couple of isolated nights I'd say go for it.

PS -

It doesn't sound like this will be an issue for you, but be aware that some hotels on HPB are affiliated with Disney in such a way that they offer similar benefits to on-site resorts, like specifically EMH. The Hilton is one such hotel. But the BW is NOT.

Me and my son, mom and grandma stayed there this past August. We stayed for two nights and I had no problems with noise or a dirty room. We had a view which we could see fireworks from Universal (I don't think they were from MK but they could have been). The buses were never a problem and were on time. It is a little far to walk to DTD (with mom, granma in tow), so since you have a car you might want to drive over to DTD. The breakfast was not free and was a little high priced for a buffet. The restraunt was ok but we ate in DTD and went down the street to the MCDs, Uno, Fuddruckers, Chick-fil-a and Wendys on 535. Overall it was a good hotel for our purposes.

The one negative was that our room was on the 5th floor and when we got off the elevator with hallway did have a funky smell to it....

Not that it matters, but I'm fairly certain it wasn't Universal. They're nowhere near Disney, at least 15 miles away. Probably MK or Epcot.
