I have searched and searched but cannot find a post that talks about the best time to visit Disney World. What do you all think is the best time to visit? I want to go when everything is open.

Thanks
Mike ( First Post ) !!

If by everything, you mean including things like Timekeeper, then you have to go on a major holiday. However, that isn't the best time to go. Those are the times when crowds are at the highest. There are only a few seasonal attractions. Timekeeper and Wonders of Life are the only things that spring to mind. Carousel of Progress was seasonal, but now is officially considered a regular attraction.

Personally, I like mid-May, early June, mid September, and October. April isn't too bad either, except for crowds.

If you go on disneyworld.com, you can find the dates for peak, regular, and value seasons. Value is usually the colder times of the year, peak is the most crowded, and regular is, well, regular.

Hope this helps.

Hmmmm Well everyone knows that the summer months are extremely hot and humid. The kids are out of school so it's most likely to be packed. Then there is hurricane season. I went last year(august) and had a wonderful time. It wasn't packed. It was still HOT but that's what the waterparks are for. December would be a great time climate-wise and atmosphere-wise but people flock to disney for xmas. I went in april this year and it was perfect(as long as you don't go during easter week) We had almost no lines and the weather was amazing. It didn't rain once, it was hot enough to swim in the waterparks and even the unheated hotel pool. And it was an awesome break from my cold New York winter.(who had a foot of snow wile we were gone). I guess it's all about preference. But if you avoid the holidays and special events and plan ahead you should be fine. Oh and things close at different times all year for rehabs and what-not. Your best bet is to check the website for operational updates. The water parks never close as the water is heated. I hope this helped.

We used to go all the time in July when I was a kid. Now my mom and I like to go down in November. You still have nice warm Florida days and there are less people in the parks which means shorter wait times for rides. The draw back is that the parks are not open as late but with shorter wait times you get through everything faster. Also if you go in 'value' season it's a lot cheaper. Try picking up Birnbaum's Walt Disney World guide book. This will give you great info on when to go etc, as will disneyworld.com.

We went to WDW for Thanksgiving last year, and it was wonderful! We ate dinner at the Prime Time, and yes we had turkey, stuffing, etc. The parks weren't too crowded, and the weather was georgus. The best part was that EVERYTHING was decorated for Christmas. It was beautiful.

Also, my mom has gone in February and loved it because of nice weather and small crowds.

I would say Nov-Feb the water parks are too cold. I've been to TL in Feb, and it wasn't TOO bad, but it wasn't that great either. Oct is usually pretty nice, a little on the cold side but still in the 80s.

We have been down in Summer, Fall, Winter and early Spring. We prefer late January to early February. Nicer weather, less people. The hours are shorter but you get on everything very fast. There are some things that might be closed for a rehab as they will do that mostly in the off season but it is usually rare that they do a lot at once though this past January it was bad. There were walls everywhere for construction but that was the first time we ever saw that. Also usually one water park will be closed for rehab and when it is done the other goes down for rehab.

Aside from this past January do to the walls, it is the best time to go, really.

Week after Thanksgiving through the week before Christmas. You miss out on the Timekeeper and Wonders of Life (no big loss to me), have to suffer through 70 degree weather if you go to the water parks, but the Christmas atmosphere (or should I say at"Mouse"phere) is a fantastic trade off. Fewer people, shorter lines, cheaper hotel rates, holiday atmosphere (plus special holiday events) = Best time to visit!

during the summer but there are crowds that do begin to bug you but I feel it is the best time to go.

OH YA OH YA

ONLY 38 MORE HOURS TILL I"M AT DISNEY

best time? food & wine!

as a local who can no longer stand to visit th parks when it is hot or crowded, i would suggest coming in late october. it's not busy, it not hot, the halloween decorations are up, AND the food & wine festival makes epcot worthy of a visit.

if you can't come then, then the monday after new years through the weekend before easter will do.

October for the Haloween party and in January. Neither seem to be very crowded. This past January was wonderful, it was in the eighties and the lines were non-existent. We would ride rides five or six times with out getting off. We wnet back in may and it was a bit more crowded, but manageable as the lines for all the rides were moving pretty fast.

I've been in May, June & Dec. I prefer June far more. I usually go June 18 thru 25th. Yes it's hot. Yes it's humid. Yes it rains. And yes it's crowded. But it's crowded, hot, humid and rainy where I live on the Miss gulf coast. Most things are open. I eat like a pig. And I don't gain any weight due to all the walking & sweating. I enjoy the crowds. If I wanted seclusion, I would go to one of the barrier islands or anywhere offshore. In Dec it was nice, but the weather was hot one day & cool the next. You can't tell if you'll be warm enough after riding a water ride. Also you have to pack tiwce as much clothes. The pools are heated, but getting out is chilling. However, just go. Anytime you can. There are not bad days at WDW.

I completely agree with Goonsquads. Early December is a great time to visit the WDW resort with the only drawback being possible rehabs.

We've started going early/mid September. We've found that it's still nice and warm (you can still tan if you like). The kids are back at school (including the British kids), the lines are virtually non existant... longest line we've had in the last 3 years at WDW was probably for the Kali River rapids at animal kingdom which was about a 35 minute wait either that or Buzz (because it started to rain everyone seemed to pile in there and it it's already a very popular attraction).

Downsides....

One major, one ly whine:

Hurricane season.... now two out of three consecutive years were fine for us (one hurricane passed the day we left for our vacation), however last year we got caught and it was quite bad nothing was open, we couldn't leave the hotel, there was no food at the hotel and when there was there was a 2 hour line to order a pizza!!!! BUT it only lasted ONE day and for us was a day we'd planned to relax by the pool and go shopping anyway so that didn't make a difference to our vacation much. Our hotel lobby wasn't in great shape afterwards either! I can imagine if there was a hurricane that lasted anymore than a day or so it would be horrible!

The le is you get teased day after day by the Halloween Horror Nights at USF and Busch Gardens' equivilant. It's advertised on radio, tv, bill boards and you see them prepping the parks for it and the last 3 years we've gone home just days even hours before they start... last year the staff preview was happening on our last day :( I've never been to a HHN but I really want to.
