When in relation to your check in date is the best time to call the resort to make particular room requests concerning location, view, etc?

Thanks in advance for any insight!

You can do it as soon as you book.

When each resort did their own you could do it just a few days ahead. However, room assignments are now done centrally for all resorts including DVC. Touring Plans were asked to email requests in 30 days before check-in so I would say a minimum of 4 weeks to maximise the chances of your request being considered.

And leave the options on the drop down window blank when doing on-line check-in or it will overwrite whatever you requested.

I called to add DME at about 100 days out and put in a room request at the same time.
I'm staying at Poly in August and since it would seem its all booked up I wanted to make sure there was a note of my preferred location especially since there were no real options during the online check in process.
As PP said since TP is now supposed to put in requests at 30 days I'd put in your room requests by 30 days out at a minimum.
Although personally when there's good options for requests during the online check in process I use that because I feel like it is always looked at where as sometimes a note on the reservation can be overlooked.

Do it when you book. Disney no longer takes requests several days before arrival. This is all done from one location now and they will not take requests right before your trip. Do it when you book the trip.

May I ask how you came of this information? I was just on the phone today, paying my balance and the CM told me to call 10 days out as well as the request I put in today

I have heard/read the best time is 10 days out
Have a look at my post regarding centralised room assignments. By 10 days out they will already have started assigning rooms and they’re not to going to redo it just because of someone’s request.

And you asked for a source? The Touring Plans site, who automate email requests for subscribers, were asked to email them in at 30 days out.

The last three times I went I called and asked when I should call back to make my room requests. They all told me every time that I should make those at the time of booking and that they do not take these by phone or fax any longer.

Thank you all so much for the advice. Is there one particular number I should be calling to make these requests? We are staying at Beach Club Villas, but are not DVC members, if that matters.

Thanks again!
