Best Time to Book for Trip on 6/8/14 - 6/14/14?

I am in the midst of my planning for my first solo trip to WDW with myself and my girlfriend of nearly 3 years. Right now we are still deciding on which resort we truly want to stay at which we are leaning towards the AKL or Kidani Village, maybe the Polynesian? Contemporary? Perhaps Saratoga Springs...As you can see we're not too sure so we need to know what our deadline is to be guaranteed the best rates.

So when is our "Best Time" to book for our trip dates? I know you can basically wait to the last minute but personally I don't like doing that. And we want to know we're getting the room of our choice, one with a decent view, instead of a parking lot

First of all....enjoy the planning! It makes the trip even sweeter . As to the best time to book a trip.....I would do it now. Why not! You can make changes if you need but at least you know that you will get your resort of choice. You can also request a room view when you book...ie...pool view, courtyard,in the case of The CR tower....MK view etc. However, requesting a specific room is almost impossible. I would recommend that you arrive at the hotel early....take an early AM flight. Most people check out early and if you are there early, your room may not be ready, but you will have more options. We arrived late this trip and kind of got what was left. I requested a king room at the WL looking over the lobby ...pool view. We got a lobby room but a queen and bunks. The CM said that it was the only room available. So.....book now and make any changes later. My favorite for what it is worth is the CR and I have stayed at the WL, AKL, Poly and PORS.

You're not likely to get any discounts as it is high season, so I would book it now. You can always modify or add discounts if they come out later. Also, if you book now, you can book your dining reservations over the phone at the 180 day +10 mark.

There was a discount offered during that time frame of June this year, so there is a good chance it will be offered again. Personally I would book as soon as you know you want to go then if and when a discount does come out you can modify your exisiting reservation. From what I see on mousesavers, be on the look out for discounts for early June in March. It was a % off the room discount... We were able to take advantage of it in mid June this year when we stayed at POR for a few nights.

Thanks for all the input! Correct me if my thinking is off but what I'm understanding is that if you book now and they have a discount come later for my trip date I can apply it before I go and receive the discount?
