Best time of day to do Kilimanjaro Safari?

Hello all. My family and I will be a AK on Sunday. I was wondering if there was a certain time of the day that was best for doing to safari?

As early in the morning as possible.

Avoid times when it is hot. As Master Yoda said, that's often only early morning. Sometimes it's also late afternoon.

Another time that animals are out is during or just after it rains.

This is pretty much exactly correct. I caution people first thing in the morning because a lot of time the elephant family group doesn't come out until around 9:30. Also after the Jammin' Jungle Parade is the time when the White Rhinos start to get up walk around and play, and the lions too.

Elephants are particularly active in the rain, however Giraffe's are not. It's all about luck for the most part, but there's a few tips.

I like going on it about an hour before it closes. Many times the cheetahs and lions are up and active.
