Best restaurants in Disney for honeymoon

My fiancee and I will be getting married in a few months and afterwards we'd like to go to Disney World for our honeymoon. I'd like to take her out to several of the high end restaurants but after doing many reviews online it's really up in the air as to which ones I should pick. We love all types of food so that's not an issue, neither is price as we do not drink alcohol.

So for a honeymoon situation, what would be the best top-3 restaurants for a romantic evening on Disney World property?

BTW, we do not have kids and don't mind if a restaurant we're in has kids (it's Disney after all).

1. Victoria & Alberts - Totally worth it, once in a lifetime dining experience.
2. Citricos - Almost as good as V&A, in fact I call it V&A junior. Same great food, without the pomp and circumstance of V&A.
3. Narcoossee's - Very wonderful place to eat. If you can get a reservation during fireworks, you can see them from the restaurant.

Another quick ?

Am I only allowed to make a reservation if I'm staying on Disney property?

We'll be at one of the hotels on Hotel Plaza Blvd (Holiday Inn, Royal Plaza, etc...)

I can't reserve online because it wants on-property info, if I call will they allow me to make a reservation then?

You don't have to stay on property to make a reservation on property or on the phone. Off property you can make a reservation 180 days out for each day you are dining.

As for places to go...

1. Victoria and Albert's would be the top place to eat in WDW. It is actually one of the best restaurants in Florida and US. You have three options: Dining Room, Queen Victoria's Room, and Chef's Table.

2. Citricos is amazing. Great food and atmosphere. I would say Citricos is 2nd to V & A in food quality and abience.

3. Jiko. Pick this as my #3 just because the food is amazing and different and the restaurant and AKL are beautiful.

I have to give mention to California Grill as they have fantastic food. Plus the view can not be beat anywhere. Especially during fireworks.

Congratulations and wish you all the best!!!!

my thoughts exactly.

I would throw in Narcoosee's, California Grill and Artist Point as close contenders

Our top 3 would be:

California Grill - check out in advance what time Wishes would be so you can make a reservation to be there for the show. there's a great viewing balcony and the music is piped in. they make sure to hold your food so you can enjoy the show!

Jiko or Sanaa - at AKL. food is great at both. jiko is fun at the cooking place (cook's table) or your own seating of course. it's a bit louder than sanaa.

citricos or narcoossee's (or V & A of course) - we've not been to victoria & albert's, but for a honeymoon i may splurge. only thing is, they do have a dress code. i believe men need to be in sports coat (no shorts). so if you don't mind packing one, the meal should be amazing. citricos and narcoossee's both have excellent food and great views. plus it's wonderful walking around inside/outside at the Grand Floridian!

Best Wishes/Congratulations!

I have to recommend California Grill, it's my favorite restaurant at Disney World as well as where my wife and I went for our arrival night dinner on our honeymoon.

But don't forget to make a note on your reservations that you're on your honeymoon at every restaurant you go to. The in-park restaurants don't usually have the time to go overboard like the resort restaurants can, but pretty much everywhere will try to do something special if they know about it.

I'm throwing a different one out there....Bistro de Paris in Epcot -- food is superior to V@A imho, the meals and wine couplings are awesome, and it is very romantic, especially later at night if you end with Illuminations! from the second floor of the pavilion....

I would say V&A - but then I was in divorce proceedings 6 months after I ate there - so maybe that's not a good idea.

Just got back from our Honeymoon in June - California Grill was by far the best dinner we had. Check the time for Wishes on the night you are making reservations and try to get a table for 30-45 minutes before the start.

There is really no better place to go - the food is amazing and the atmosphere is perfect for a honeymoon. I have never tried Victoria and Alberts - but I've always gotten a stuffy vibe from it and didn't really want to pack a jacket for our honeymoon.

victoria and alberts
california grill (with a time so you can watch wishes from the roof)
bistro de paris

my two other absolute favorites (both signature venues) but a little less romantic would be citricos and flying fish. i think the food and service at these two places tops california grill but cg is still really good and you can't beat doing the fireworks after dinner at least once.

another option if not on the dining plan would be bluezoo.

Perhaps it is because it is in WDW, but the staff at V&A are some of teh friendliest staff around. They are more than happy to explain things to you and are very friendly and helpful.

I have been in some restaurants (some of them not so cheap) where the staff seems to take offense if you as to look at a menu. V&A's is not like that at all.

You do need that jacket though.

This is going to sound like a mushy chick answer but take it for what it's worth - My DH (ex now, but thats beside the point - not the honeymoons fault!) and I went to WDW for our honeymoon; turned out to be the first trip of many. We had a good run.

My point? It was our first trip to the World together and everywhere we went was wonderful and special and romantic; I guess because we were discovering things together. The only advice I can offer is avoid buffets ~ they're pretty blah and generic; we never did those. But otherwise? Wherever you decide to go will be great just because you're together =)

Ok - done now ~ chick moment over....back to being bitter! lol

We are going there in December for our honeymoon and are currently looking at Yachtsman and The Brown Derby. We both love steak so figured Yachtsman would be the best signature option for that...

A couple years ago I would have never thought about The Brown Derby. But I heard that things have really changed there and it is one of the best signature restaurants available.

Congratulations! You're going to have a fabulous time honeymooning in WDW! :sohappy:

My husband and I went to WDW for our honeymoon in May 2009. Hands down the meal that stands out the most in both of our minds from that trip, the one we still talk about, was our dinner at Jiko. It was just fantastic - the food was awesome (you say you love all types of food, so why not try something a little different?), our server was excellent, and we really just enjoyed both the ambiance of the place (it was decently quiet and intimate) and the opportunity to see Animal Kingdom Lodge for the first time. I haven't been to other Signature restaurants (yet) but I would imagine/hope that the experiences at these other establishments would be similar.

Completely agree with this...
We tried Boma the night before Jiko and were not impressed.
But the entire week, our first week as a married couple, was fabulous overall!

Have a great time!

I agree with what everyone else has said. You can't go wrong with these signature restaurants. When you call for a reservation be sure to tell them you are on your honeymoon. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary at the yachtsman and they gave us a personalized menu, very nice keepsake.
The signature restaurants in my ranking go...
California grill (pork tenderloin is to die for)
Narcoosee's (best seafood, calamari app was the best I have ever had)
Jiko (yummy fancy flatbreads and great filet)
Yachtsman
Flying fish (doesn't have the same quiet setting the others do, but awesome scallops and best crab cake ever!)
Citrico's

Haven't tried artist point or v and a yet. And now my mouth is watering.Best wishes to you guys and congratulations!

Tutto Italia is wonderful, we had a 4 year old with us when we went but I imagine had we been alone it would have been a very romantic dinner... and also Shula's at the dolphin resort... I never hear much about this place on the forum but it is very nice, dim lighting, amazing food.. we will definitely return!
