BEST place for wedding proposal

Ok, I am already married but from the sounds of it, there are some here who are gearing up to pop the big question at WDW. In your opinion, where (and when) is the best place at the entire WDW complex to give a wedding proposal?

My opinion: Either in front of his/her favorite attraction (if she LOVES Pooh) or in front of the castle.

or... in the Haunted Mansion so she cannot see that the diamond is fake and will say "yes" before she realizes so. :lookaroun

What are your thoughts?

After Illuminations and the crowd has thinned down and the music is still playing, pop the question and the ring, she says yes, you embrace and kiss, and by this time, you leisurely walk out of the park that is almost completely empty and you have it to yourself (make sure you're in the back of WS to maximize the moment).

Wow, you are good. Maybe the best bet for you is a proposal on the Aerosmith ride. Surely that will provide some distraction?

I always thought WS at EPCOT was pretty romantic too.

A walk at sunset along one of the beaches would do it for me...and I'm with Jill, a fake is easy to spot. (diamonds are a girl's best friend ya know. :D )

And Scott...I had no idea you were such a romantic.

I proposed at Pleasure Island at midnight just before the fireworks went off. Im not sure if they do that anymore. I had someone take pictures of that happy day:zipit:

What I did was I proposed in the middle of the center circle at the Italy Pavilion. (In the middle of the square there is a circular stage type thingy-cant think of what to call it...) You can see it in the planning video, there are people dancing around inside of it, etc..

Illuminations was going in the background, and the fireworks were flying. The sculpture of (poseidon?) in the background was lit up and the waterfall around it was flowing. I proposed during the fireworks and there was no one around so it was private, not to mention, every time we hear this one part of the song we can picture the moment to a tee. It is the part of the song where the fireworks pick up again....i wish i could type it..lol...duh duh duhhhhh, duh duh duhhh duh duh duhhhh duh duhhhhnnn. :hammer:

It was amazing and it is something neither her nor I will ever forget!

Like I said...It was dark, but not too dark, and VERY private. Everyone had their attention on the fireworks, and it turned out to be a great experience. Not to mention, we always will have a "place" at Disney now.

We went back the next day to get photos taken of the "re-enactment" and I'll never forget this lady running up and saying: "OH! YOURE PROPOSING!!! LET ME TAKE A PICTURE!!!" It was great. It was kinda weird because we had a little bit of a crowd around us and they congratulated us, but as i said, when we did it during the fireworks display it was much more private.

I cant wait until our honeymoon when we can go back to that very spot (and years to come when we take our kids etc...) and relive the moment over and over again. :sohappy: :sohappy:

Hope that helps!

I know someone who did this, and I think it is the most romantic thing ever. His girlfriend loved Cinderella, and Cinderella castle, so last christmas, he took his girlfriend to WDW for her first visit, and on the first night he made reservations to eat at Cinderella's Royal Table.

They ordered their dinner, and after they ordered, Cinderella and Prince Charming walked out with a plate covered with one of those silver dome things and placed it in front of the woman. When she lifted the lid, there was a Mickey Mouse hat on top of a single rose. When she lifted the hat, she noticed that her boyfriend had embroidered "will you marry me" on the back of the hat, and on the rose was her ring.

Of course she said yes.

Aaaahhhhhh:) :) :)

There's so much about me you don't know.....:D .....and that is probably a VERY good thing.

And see, that Illuminations thing works, doesn't it? And the Cinderella thing was pretty good too.

I saw someone propose in front of the castle last trip, and I know my gf's friend got engaged at Victoria and Albert's at the Grand Floridian.

I was actually thinking about that this trip in March, so any ideas would be good. What I was actually thinking is to have a dinner at either Grand Floridian or Contemporary (Citricos or California Grill) and then take a late stroll along the 7 Seas Lagoon and do it there. I wouldn't want to propose in the park.

I know at one point they were thinking of finishing a walk all the way around the lagoon. Does anyone know if this is done yet or how far it goes? There is a walkway from Grand Floridian out to the Wedding Chappel thing between GF and Poly right?

DH did a fantastic job with his proposal. Took me around the countries at Epcot, then walked me to the beach at the Beach Club, where his sister and her friends had spread out a towel, candles, champagne and glasses for us. He dropped to one knee and popped the question -- saying something about doing his best to take me "around the world". VERY SWEET! Then we watched Illuminations and drank champagne! It was wonderful!

On a side note -- I knew he bought the ring and was fairly certain he'd ask while we were in Florida, so I was prepared! I bought him a Mickey Mouse pocket watch and had the word "yes" engraved in it. He deserved something special too, ya know!

Those all sound like great idea's . Just about anywhere inside WDW is a great place to propose. I also happen to find a unique little spot. Truthfuly it was an idea i read from a post on here about the same subject. As my girlfriend and I was walking from our room at the POLY (down the sidewalk by the beach) there is a point that sticks out, its real close to the big pool and marina. This is very private, enough light to see, and the setting is unbelievable. You can see all of the POLY most of the GF, and of coarse the Castle. Anyway that was the spot and the wedding is a product of this coming April with another trip to WDW for the honeymoon!!!! SEE YA THERE

i have to say that as someone who just got engaged i have to say my dream place would have been at the concourse area right in between the two shops at epcot across from american adventure because the fact it has the atmosphere of my favorite park and its what disney calls the middle of epcot or the seperation but the only reason why this never happened to me i would have to have waited till the honeymoon b/c thats when we will be going to disney together:lol:

I posted about this back in September, but I proposed to my girlfriend in front of the Haunted Mansion. She had no idea it was coming, and I had been playing tour guide all day (it was her first visit to WDW). Throughout the HM I was pointing out little story details, and as we were exiting I stopped and showed her The Bride's ring embedded in the pavement.

"...and speaking of rings," I said, pulling the engagement ring out of my pocket and already down on one knee from showing her the ring in the pavement.....

She said yes.

Thats a very good one lockheed. I suggest a C.O.P. proposal. Someone would be like, "Speaking of progress, I would like to make progress with our relationship (pulls out ring)". Its kinda bad but thats the only one I could think of. And by the way, tommyboy-is that a Less Than Jake avatar?
