What is the best place to pick up Groceries from on our way from Orlando International to POR?

We want to get milk and soda mainly to stock up our room fridge.

We use a place on International Drive - Waldgreens ?? - a small supermarket selling food & drink, nappies, suncreams, wines, beers etc, etc.
Take the Beeline Expressway from Orlando Int Airport and then exit onto McCoy Road (County Highway 482) this turns into Sand Lake Road which has a crossroads junction with International Drive. Turn right onto I-Drive and find it (about 1 mile) up on your left.

Right across the street from the hotels in Downtown Disney there is a plaza called Crossroads - it was a good place to shop for misc. things like bottled water, fruit, etc.

I agree about Publix -- the best if you want to stay close to Disney. If you're strictly looking for food, Walgreens is more of a drugstore -- they have some foods but the selection is much better at Publix.

Actually the grocery store @ the Crossroads is a Goodings, and it is extremely expensive compared to a normal grocery store... If you are on Hotel Plaza Blvd. and you get to the intersection where the Crossroads shopping center is across from you make a left... About a mile down the road on the right hand side is a new Winn-Dixie grocery store that is geared towards the locals and not the tourists... They won't rip you off there... Granted Goodings is convenient, but as far as pricing goes, think $2.10 for a two liter bottle of coke...

I thought there was a Publix right near the Crossroads too -- not actually in that stripmall, but maybe a few blocks down International Drive? It's where the college program CMs shop. Maybe I'm mistaken. I know they don't use the Gooding because the prices are so steep and the Winn-Dixie wasn't there when my sister-in-law did the college program. I'm so confused now -- maybe I should just fly down there and check it out ;)!

Goodings is the one in the Crossroads, but is outrageously expensive. When you come out of Downtown Disney and you can go straight across the road into Crossroads, go left instead and about a 1/2 mile down on the left is Winn-Dixie ( across from Walgreens and Joe's Crabshack) and it is a hell of a lot cheaper than Goodings.

Or go right at the light and down to a Publix on your left. It will be all the way at the end of the road (192). If you turn left there at 192, there is a Wal-Mart Supercenter a few miles down 192 on the right, just past Medieval Times.

You took the words out of my mouth Turkeylegboy! LOL! Poor cast members speaking, huh? hahaha

Yeah... I agree, don´t even think of Goodings! Way too expensive! I haven´t seen the Winn-Dixie, but I´ve been to Walmart and Publix. Publix is closer and it´s nice. Walmart is cheaper but huge and will be a nightmare if you are with kids... you will end up picking up tons of things! :D

WalMart is open 24 hours though... if you go around midnight, it is soooo nice to shop there! ;)

Store

Just got back from a trip last week and went to a Publix on 192 that was nice. Go down 192 and take a left at the light in front of the Days Inn at Old Town and it will be on the left.

I truely think the reason the prices are so high at goodings is because of all the carpeting. I think a portion of the sales has to go toward cleaning it.
You're best bet for food and stuff at low prices is Walmart. It's not hard to find, and you'll be able to get whatever you need there.
