Best Pet Friendly hotel in Orlando/ WDW Area??

I personally haven't had to stay with a pet in any area hotels, but several friends did during the hurricanes in '04. They were very unhappy with the Peabody and very happy with the JW Marriott at Grande Lakes. I'm unsure whether those hotels are pet-friendly all of the time, so check ahead. Lots of exceptions were made during the storms.

Say what you will about them, but the Universal hotels are also billed as pet-friendly. I haven't been in the rooms, but those hotels' public areas are all very nice.

Anyone with experiences with Pet Friendly NICE hotels that you want to recommend???

Personally...any motel/hotel that was "pet friendly" I wouldn't stay at due to health concerns.

Leaving your pet cooped up in a hotel room all day with strange noises around them while you have fun in the parks is not fun for the pet.

Personally, I'd find a good kennel or a pet sitter while on vacation.

I agree.

As someone mentioned the Universal hotels are pet friendly...don't have many negatives to say about them...they're pretty good...especially the Portofino. However, I don't know how comfortable a pet will feel and/or the services available.

When we drove down to Orlando with our cat, we stayed at the Quality Inn on IDrive for 4 nights before checking into YC for our wedding. The rooms are clean and the price is reasonable. The only thing is that if you want room service you must have your pet caged up when they arrive to clean and make the bed. This could be a problem if you are going to be out and about, since I'm sure that your pet would much rather be sleeping on a bed  :snore: The other option they offer is to put a sign on the door that lets the cleaning staff know that a pet is in the room and they WILL NOT enter.. Having said that, be prepared to make your own bed and throw away your trash yourself. We opted for that because we didn't want to tramatize our cat anymore than needed. However, once we checked in to WDW Yacht Club we checked him into the Epcot kennel which was very nice. Whatever you decide to do just make sure that your little guy has familiar things with him/her to make him more comfy

Thank you for all of your advices.

The dogs would stay together during the day at Disney Kennel, and come to the hotel at night with us.

I understand the whole "cooped up pet thing" I am really sensitive to stressing out a dog. And, growing up in the animal medical family, I know what is and isn't acceptable for animals.

Unfortunatly, I do not like, in anyway, the kennels here in my area (i have already visited them) and there are no pet sitting services available. In addition, the closet family is over 1000 miles away. I feel better being able to tend to my animals throughout the day and then take them back to the hotel with us at night. We are only going for one day and one night. So, they will only be away from us on and off during one day. I think they can manage.

Thanks for all your hotel suggestions.
