Best Parks for First Time Visit

Not applicable for me, but I was having a discussion with a co-worker who is taking their kids for the first time in March and she sought counsel on what parks to hit first. My advice was

  • Avoid whatever park had early EMH that day
  • Since she's going off-season, utilize late EMH
  • For first time kids, I advised Epcot and AK before MK and DHS
  • She though I was insane looking at my day-by day itineraries, but I told her a first Disney trip is not the time to improvise.

I agree with avoiding the EMH park the first day, My plan is if a park has EMH late one night, the next day I am going to that park. (for MK i will book the cinderellas Royal table for breakfast to get in park early too) and then AKL ill book at Tuskers house to get in there early too.

But with first time Kids. I personally want to go to MK the first day, I want my daughters first impression of disney to be walking up main street and seeing the Castle.

My logic with delaying the MK is it colors the kids' expectations for EPCOT and AK.
That Totally makes sense, but I guess it also would depend on the age of the kids, my daughter will be close to 3 and I am going for 10 days. I understand Epcot being a little boring but she will love AK and DHS. I am guessing her favorite park might be Animal Kingdom, as she loves shows and animals...

Don't forget - the kids can enjoy the Wilderness Explorers adventure badges in AK. They complete challenges (which are fun and entertaining) as they work their way around the park. They can also have fun with passports in Epcot. You purchase little passport kits in the park. The CMs from all the countries write in them when they stamp the masks at the Kidcot Fun Stops. The kit has stickers for the kids, too, to add later.
