Horizons Hands Down

If any ride summed up EPCOT Center it was Horizons. From showing us the future to being a new ride system with state of the art animatronics Horizons had it all.

Have you ever looked beyond today into the future?
Picturing a world we've yet to see
The wonder of finding new ways
That lead to the promise of brighter days

Have you ever dreamed the dreams of the children?
Just imagine the magic their minds can see
Horizons, all shining and new
Horizons, where dreams do come true

And it will be
A future built with care
For you and me
A world we all can share

For today holds the challenge.
To make this world a better place to be.
New Horizons for you and for me

If we can dream it, then we can do it....
yes we can!

Tell me that’s not what EPCOT was (and still should be) all about.

The world could use some of that idealism now.

I see what you mean. I was fortunate to ride Horizons before it closed and I miss it a whole lot. But thanks to multiple Disney fan sites, I can view Horizons more and more and love it every time I look at it. Thanks for the memories, Horizons!

Kitchen Kabaret, World of Motion, Journey into Imagination, Horizons.

Classic four. . . what a shame.

Thanks for reminding me. I forgot to put the original Journey into Imagination. Sorry to Dreamfinder, Figment, and all the JII fans out there.

Yep, I didn't vote because it'd have to be JiYI, and the upstairs area of JiYI.

I loved it, my step-kids loved it, I wish my 3/4 y/o boys could have experienced it.

Horizons for me. I also liked the upstairs of the original Journey with those pin tables that you would push the pins upward.

All of them.

JIYI (Journey Into Your Imagination) didn't have an upstairs area...

There was an upstairs area. I think it was called Image works? I'm not sure if that was the name or not, but i know the area you're talking about Mitch. I voted for horizons, but i would have made Imagination my choice. The new one is better than the first re-do, but can't compare with the original.

I really miss all the great dark rides of 80's Epcot CENTER

Loved the WoM and actually all the old omnimover rides. Not only were they well done, they lasted more than the typical 3 minute rides of today.

I miss Horizons.

I ran out of time the first time I went to Epcot and missed out
on seeing World of Motion.

I miss Horizons, it always made my mother sick, and I miss the old Spaceship Earth feat. Walter Cronkite. Oh to be able to go back in time and visit Epcot circa 1989 :(.

Its a shame you missed this part of the JIY pavilion. One of the all time best Epcot attractions. After you exited the JIY ride with Figment and Dreamfinder, you went upstairs, to The Image Works. It was an area full of all kinds of things to do using your imagination.

World of Motion without a doubt. A very funny dark ride.

Memories:
The outside "spiral" upward at the beginning before you go into the ride.
The traffic cop hiding behind the billboard.
The old civilization's tries at making wheels (triangular and rectangular versions)
The "Tron" tunnel at the end

I think what he is trying to say is that Journey into YOUR Imagination did not have an upstairs area, but JOURNEY INTO IMAGINATION did. See the difference.

I see. I even called it JIY, which would be Journey Into Your...that does not make a lot of sense does it?

Now its JIYIWF (Journey into Your Imagination with Figment).

Anyway, in the original Journey Into Imagination pavilion was a great area called The Image Works and it was upstairs. It was a wonderful, interactive area you could spend hours in and have a wonderful time.

Sorry for the confusion,
Ricky
