There are many different styles of riding rides, fromt he traditional single track rail car used in Snow White to the Rotating Chairs in COP. Which do you think is the best?

Yes, they do.

And little bumper thingies that come up and stop you if needed.

In PotC it requires two "keys" to unlock the bumpers at the flume portion. One at the top, and one at the bottom, because of an accident involving one boat crashing into the rear of another that was stalled at the base after being unlocked at the top.

Linear Induction..

By the way, I would add to the Tower of Terror...I think it is more than a lift...it mover forward, has wheels, can turn 180 degrees (probably 360)...I think it is one of the most complex and genius ride systems...u can really see it in the Travel Channel special

It's a similar system to the Walt Disney World Traveling Theater. Almost identicle actually.

The Indiana Jones stunt show uses it to move the sets, and its also used in the Great Movie Ride.

Thanks for the info, I am impressed on how they can turn on a dime. I just love the engineering marvels at Disney...too bad they are not fond on exposing them.

It's just a bunch of little metal wheels. They follow a sensor grid that says "You are here." and the computer says "Good, you're supposed to be there." and so the vehicle says "Well, that's nice, I think i'll keep going then." and it all works wonderously until one of those screw up... and you end up with a vehicle stuck in a wall.

I guess this is unlike Test Track, which the car says, "I am here", and the computer says "Why the heck are ya there?" and then the car says, "Good I'll keep going!"

Funny thing is, the vehicles at Test Track can only crash into each other. They're on a track they're not gonna jump off of any time soon. Bolted, to be exact.

It seems far less complex than the free roving vehicles from UoE, Twilight, and GMR - but they seem to have fewer problems.

Oh, another thing that's interesting.

The vehicles for UoE can be manually controlled, and you control both "sets" of wheels, so if you set one going forward and one in reverse, you can spin in circles.

I don't know if anyone has ever done this though :)
