Best of the Moderate Resorts

Does anyone know which of the moderate resorts between The Port, The Carib, or The Coronado has the most amount of refurbished rooms or at least the most decent overall?

Heading out in April. We've been staying in The Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge and need a change of pace.
:D

The Coronado is the newest of the group and is very large. For overall themeing, food, service, and quiet, of your list I recommend the Port Orleans Riverside. I understand it has recently been refurbed as well.

Does anyone know if Disney is refurbishing POFQ while it is shut down or is the place just a ghost town?

I've stayed at the Caribbean several times and have always loved it. If you're looking for a lively atmosphere, this is a good place. Although, the main pool area also tends to get very crowded, so if that's a priority, then you would need to snag a spot early in the day. The last time I was there they had a live band every night out in the main pool area, so keep that in mind if you're looking for quiet. I've never stayed at the Coronado, but I didn't care for the setup of their food court area when I visited and I also thought there weren't enough shady areas. The Port Orleans Riverside is probably the nicest. It's very quiet and relaxing, and the Bayou area is very cozy. The grounds are really beautiful and expansive, and the boat ride to Downtown Disney is a little added plus. The Bayou rooms are more rustic, and the mansion rooms are more formal. The mansion rooms and bayou rooms don't differ in size - it just depends on what kind of theming that you're looking for.

Have a great time! :)

In my opinion all 3 are great resorts! and they all have their share of good points. I find it very hard to choose a favorite, and I dont think you will be dissapointed with any of them. For me, Coronado (due to its superb bus service and location) just wins, but only just!

Caribbean Beach gets my vote for the best .. I think having a lake in the center of all that color and you can see Space Ship Earth. I love just sitting out there at night look at the lights on the water. If you have any extra time ( with shorter hours I am going to :( ) you can stroll around the lake!

I absolutely love the Alligator bayou rooms at Port Orleans. I have requested the same room the past 3 years!! Hopefully this year it will be open again!! The atmosphere in the bayou is so quiet and peaceful no matter how busy the parks are. Its a great place to be after a long day in the parks!! I can't wait for May, that is when I go again, and hopefully in my fav room.

Does anyone else have there favorite rooms they request year after year??? Or am I the only strange person?!?!:veryconfu :lookaroun

Another good thing about the Aligator Bayou: It's the last bus stop before heading to the parks. We learned this when staying at Dixie Landings, making approximately 73 stops every morning before heading off to play!
Of course, I guess this also means it's the last stop at the end of the night, but who cares then.

It is a hotel for residents of the Haunted Mansion who need a break. Nothing is going on in there.
