best/most memorable experience while watching a parade

My favorite parade memory, not to mention one of my favorite Disney memories, happened quite a few years ago during Spectromagic. Peter Pan came up to me and explained how to get to Neverland. "Second star to the right and straight on 'til morning." (Mej, perhaps the same person???) I know it seems like something little, but being so young, it was truly magical.

During the backstage tour we visited the control room for the MK parades while a parade was getting started. The room is off of the ride computer area in the utilidor.

The way the parades are managed is pretty interesting, sensors buried in the streets signal the operators of the progress of each float and this in turn allows the music, lights, etc to be switched in proper sequence. The timing/speed/ distance between floats, etc. is all critcal.

While I don't always watch the parades, I appreciate how much work goes into them. They are a long term Disney tradition.

My most memorable parade... well, it has to be about 5 years ago.

Like most of you know, I live in Miami. One year my aunt chartered a bus, and took the whole family to Disney. We went to MGM, and we got "birthday guest passes"

Here is what we got...

No Lines!
Put all the kids on a parade float,
And a party in a backstage location!

It was great. Nothing like seeing all of my cousins with Aladdin, waiving at everyone, like they were famous or something.

Disney did a great job.
