Best Mini Golf course?

Hi, I'm a brand new "reformed lurker" 21 days from my 2nd trip to WDW. Staying at the Contemporary. We want to go mini golfing our first (non-theme park) day. I've read all I can about the different mini golf courses but what I'm looking for is which one is best? Are they about the same? We're traveling with kids 16, 14, 10 and 3. I'm most interested in theming and decor that my 3yo can relate to the most.

Thanks!

I've done both Fantasia Gardens and Summerland.

Fantasia Gardens is just what it suggests, the courses are designed after the movie, and they're lots of fun! Very Mickey! I honestly enjoyed Summerland more. I thought the theming was great from the moment you walk through the door. Plus the Christmas music as you play the course makes it all better.

I'm partial to Fantasia Gardens and Fantasia Fairways myself

Winter Summerland is entertaining and better than the majority of other mini golf courses in America. However, both courses there are the same, but opposite. For example, several corresponding holes on both courses have the same layout, but are themed oppositely (you'll shoot into a sandcastle, or into a snowcastle)

Fantasia Gardens is a classic minigolf course with a great theme. Each hole involves a different part of the Fantasia movie.

Fantasia Fairways is more like a miniature golf course instead of a minigolf course. It's like a shrunken golf course, except that you play with a putter instead of with the entire spectrum of golf clubs. You putt from a tee and go until you hit the pin. Along the way, you'll find hazards like sand traps, rocks, and rough. It's really a lot of fun, especially if you don't care about your score and you just smack the ball.

I am a huge fan of winter summerland. I absolutely love christmas music and this mini golf plays it year round. I took the time once to get in a round at fantasia gardens with my family and the line for the gardens was insane, so we decided to try the fairways, and wow is that one hard. Every hole we would max out in strokes and my dad and I are golfers! I did however somehow manage to get a hole in one on one of the holes. So since my mom and sister complain a lot we decided to go over to winter summerland. I love the interactive features on some of the holes. Like when you knock a ball into the whole the snowman squirts at you. My personal favorite is the bridge on summerland where the fish spit at you. My dad thought he had it all figured out and steped over one sensor not realizing there were two and he triggered the other one, and in turn got sprayed right in the butt. I couldn't stop laughing at him. Maybe I like summerland more also because I have more memories there, and I haven't been able to play at the gardens part of fantasia gardens.

As a former employee of Disney's Mini-Golf Operations, I would suggest Winter-Summerland for the 3 year old. It has a neat theme and is more like what most people think of when they think mini-golf.

Fantasia Gardens would be more for the older kids and adults who are looking for a challenge. I say this because even the Gardens course is difficult. Lots of putting up steep inclines or thru tiny tunnel entrances etc. The Fairways is just unique and not easy but not too hard either but will be more appreciated by the teenagers and adults in the group who are looking for a challenge.

Here are a couple of things to keep in mind. Afternoons are slow at Fantasia. Evenings are slower at Winter-Summerland especially after Blizzard Beach has been closed for a couple of hours. Each location has two courses. Winter-Summerland has Winter and Summer. Fantasia Gardens has the Gardens course and the Fairways. Children 3 to 9 run $8.29 (tax included) and everyone else is $10.40 (tax included). You get a 50% discount off the regular price if you play the second course in the same day at the same location. Or, you can take your receipt and go to the other location and play the course of your choice there for the reduced rate.

At the Winter/Summerland....I've done both courses. But I liked Winter better. It was more interactive! Very kool! I have not gone to Fantasia though. My sister told me it was harder than the Winter/Summerland!
