Hi everyone! First time posting on this site. We are new DVC members and I'm beginning to plan our first trip to our home resort, Animal Kingdom Lodge.

I'm so confused as to which room to book for our trip next January. I'm planning on booking right at the 11-month mark, one month from today.

I thought I had this all figured out. When we purchased DVC this year, it was with the intention of staying a week in the off-season AT CLUB LEVEL. This was a big seller for us. Not worrying about food and cooking (when I'm on vacation, the kitchen is closed!) and generally having a more magical experience because we were on club level. But, the more I read about it, the more I realize that I may have to sacrifice some things I was counting on to be on club level.

We're excited about the lounge for everyone in our party. Having breakfast there early each am, snacks and drinks at night. I was happy to think we would be greeted at the door and have the best rooms in the place. That's my naivety there; I just assumed CL rooms were the best. But, I've read that NO club level rooms even have a view of the savannas?? How can this be? And we need all the sleeping spaces, even though some of our party are small children. My sons will sleep on the pullouts in the living room. But, I feel bad if I've talked up how nice this hotel is to my in-laws and then they have a pullout bed. (Their littles would sleep there, but it would be nice to have two beds in that second bedroom.) I'm trying to figure out why I would pay more for a crappier room--even with some snacks thrown in "for free".

Can anyone compare the rooms at Kidani with the club level rooms for me? We will have 6 adults and 4 kids (Me, DH, DS11, DS9, DSIL, DBIL, DN4, DN2, DMiL, DFiL) and plan to rent a two-bedroom for our family and DSIL's and a studio for Grandma and Grandpa for Jan 4-10, 2015. If the rooms at CL are pretty good and have some amount of a view, then I think I would stick with it. But, if they're just rotten, then maybe we should go to Kidani and just buy food for the room. (I'm still not cooking, btw. You can't make me.

One thing to consider with that many people is that Kidani has an extra bathroom. In addition, are you really going to spend morning, noon, and night at the resort to take advantage of the concierge level food? I would rather opt for a savannah view 2-bdr in Kidani, and ask for the studio to be close by.
