Best hotel to stay at?

What's Universal's best on-site hotel? The reason I ask is that my fiance and I are getting married at the end of September in Florida, and my mum and dad have offered to pay for a night at one of the hotels as a gift.

Personally i'm interested in staying at Hard Rock.

Hard Rock is a great Hotel. Book on line you will get a far better price than going through a UK agent. We stay a few nights every trip.

Dont know anyone whos stayed at Portofino, but a good friend loved the Royal Pacific.

I stayed at Hard Rock and really liked it, we stayed on the 7th floor concierge, it was well worth it.

A friend of mine ALWAYS stays at Portifino and she LOVES it.


Just be prepared that there are NO food courts, so when you eat at the hotel its restaurants only, and you also have to pay a parking fee everyday even if you are staying at the hotel.

In my opinion Hard Rock is more "fun", while Portofino Bay is more "romantic". They're both excellent resorts. Have a great trip!

Hard Rock is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at in Orlando. The hotel and grounds are beautiful, and it has an awesome pool. On top of all that, the location cannot be beat. It is an EASY walking distance from CityWalk and the two Universal theme parks. If I could afford it, I would stay at Hard Rock for my entire trip every time I go.

Portofino is amazing! If you like huge bathrooms, you'd love it. Really, the bathrooms are as big as the rooms. And Portofino does have more romantic charm to it, as has been stated.
