Best DIY Autograph Book

So I saw someone on here post that they used one of the Disney Encyclopedia's as an autograph book and I really liked that idea. To me it would last longer than the ones you buy at the parks and I think it would be nicer than any homemade one we could create. Plus it would be fun trying to mark off all the characters in the book as we can over the many many years we will visit. My dilema is. I found these two books and I cannot decide which one would work best since I cannot find a place that will show me the inside so I can see what the pages look like. Do any of you own either of these books and could post a few pages so I could make a good decision. Any help appreciated. Thanks

I have the book from your second post and it would be perfect for an autograph book. The only drawback is it is a little heavy and I would make sure you took a ziplock bag big enough it incase you got caught in a Florida rain shower. Our autograph book got soaked even tru our backpack one year.

I like this. With my own kids, I'd be worried though that they'd treat it like a "list" of characters that they'd need to see (and be disappointed when they couldn't find some of the ones on the pages). I have younger kids though, and the kind that love lists and scavenger hunts and stuff, so it's just how my kids would treat it. I totally don't speak for all other kids in this, that's for sure.
Honestly, I found it very easy to make my own autograph books last year just using some plain (unlined) notebooks from Ikea for something like a dollar a piece. I was able to use some glue to paste some scrapbooking paper on the covers (so I could then personalize them using scrapbooking stickers and such). The ringed binder allowed us to easily prepare them for each character and made it easier for them to hold them and write (with their big costume hands). Also, we'd put daily journal entries at the end of each day in there as well. I've already got the notebooks for this year as well, and just need to hit up a scrapbooking place to find decorations.

i have this on my mind, as well. the journals seem a little costly, whereas making my own seems like a more affordable option. probably is, i can't seem to find a nice, unlined journal for a decent price! you'd think a dollar store would have something like this! i love the idea of using a disney book for autographs. as sshindel said, i'd worry that my kids would treat it is - we must have all of these characters autographs!

it is one of my daughter's birthdays so i thought of getting her an oversized birthday card - well, not TOO big, because it has to fit in her travel bag! i've also thought of buying a few disney christmas cards and letting the characters sign them. my other option is to buy a cheapie photo album - the ones that have two slots per page, one on top of the other - and use one for an autograph, and the corresponding slot for a picture of my kid with said character. i haven't decided what to do yet.

anyone have any suggestions? or different creative ideas?

On our first trip I bought one of the park autograph books, had the character sign on one side and after we came home I put a picture of the character meeting on the other.

Always remember to take a sharpie!

I have made a few different ones with the characters in it. I am at work so i can't post any links to where I got the information. We didn't get signatures for all the characters that were in the book but my daughter didn't care. We did leave some blank pages for those we didn't expect to see. I would highly recommend this. The characters would get excited to see their picture and made a big deal over it, they were pretty funny. I will try to remember to post the websites that I got the info from and a few pictures of our books.

This site has a pretty cool passport style design. I was going to use this one for my DD but it hasn't been updated in a few weeks and there is no Doc McStuffins. I could use a blank page the site offers but I don't think it would be the same without the Doc photo. Times like these I wish I was good with photoshop etc.
