Best Disney Resort

What is the best disney resort?

My vote is the Yacht Club for the following reasons, first off location location location. Its right in the middle of all the parks, and its in the back yard of epcot, nothing is better than waking up early morning and walking over to EPCOT before the crowds get their. One might complain their is no monorail access but their is sorta, through EPCOT which is definely helpful need be. The yacht club also has the huge pool, water slide, nice accomidations excellent food, near the boardwalk, boat access to mgm, and is near the swan and dolphin which has an awsome mini golf course as well, all in walking distance.

i could not recomend the the disney yacht club more, its definetly one of the best hotels i stayed at their, and ive stayed at most of them already.

Contemporary

For me its the Contemporary... What more can you ask for? The monorail system runs THROUGH the hotel!!! So if its raining out you dont have to wait in the rain... You have a food court, buffet, arcade, and much more.. They have nice sitdown restaraunts, and tons of shops.. When your riding the elevators the characters say the floor your arriving on etc.. HOW COOL IS THAT??? On E Nights you can just hop on the Monorail and ride over to Magic Kingdom.. If you want to go to Epcot then just go to the TTC.. Its just so reliable.. No its NOT cheap but its cool to stay there.. I like the tower rooms.. At night you can go to the top of the hotel or just look out your balcony and watch the " Fantasy In The Sky" show.. My vote goes to the Contemporary...

The Contemporary is the complete package, it has everything you need, only thing is that it costs an arm and a leg to stay there!

Hello? Where is P.O. on that list? You can't count AS and skip P.O. Riverside!!!!!

Our top is Y&B and Poly and then D.L. (it will always be that in my heart!) Next trip is to WL in the villas in our new "home" so that might be on my list also soon!!!

Boardwalk Villas?

Well, I'd vote, but I don't see the Boardwalk Villas. :) A close second, in my opinion, would be the Grand Floridian.

My wife and I honeymooned at the GF. We had a honeymoon room that was on Seven Seas Lagoon and had a perfect view of the Cinderella Castle. It was beautiful. Every night we got to see the MK fireworks. The conceirge staff was so helpful; they went above and beyond the call. We even went back there for our second anniversary and had a nice room looking out on the Wedding Chapel. The water mice (available at the GF, Contemp, WL (and FW?)) on Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake are great fun too.

That said, we prefer the Boardwalk Villas. First, as a DVC member with the BWVs as our home resort, it costs us the least to stay there. (A very important consideration for us, but not so much for "normal" people ;) ) It's also very beautiful, the 1-bedroom suites are bigger and more flexible than a standard room in the GF, the staff is very friendly (probably true for all the WDW resorts though) and the location is great.

Yes, the GF is on the monorail line and it is nice (I insist we ride it at least once on every trip we're there :)), but what's that get you? A cool, fairly short trip to the MK and a cool, much longer trip to Epcot (after switching trains at the TTC).

Beyond the easy access to the MK, all the MK-area resorts (GF, Poly, Contemp, and especially the WL) feel pretty isolated to us. (FWIW, we've only stayed at the GF and the WL (which has great theming and a wonderful atmosphere, but is very isolated WRT to the other MK-area resorts, relying only on boats and buses). On the other hand, BW (and by extention, probably YC, BC, and S&D) has a great location. It's a really short walk to Epcot (It generally takes us less time to walk to Epcot then it does to go from the GF to MK via the monorail.), a bit longer walk to MGM. You can also take a boat to either. Finally, if you have to take a bus, the Epcot-area resorts are pretty much in the center of things. Location, location, location.

Anyway, there are a lot of great things to say about every resort we've stayed at and, when you get right down to it, I'm just splitting hairs. I'd stay at any in a minute. It's just that, when we can chose, we'll generally chose BWVs.

Hope that helps and that I didn't get anybody's panties in a bunch. :goodnevil

I've only stayed at All-Stars Music, which was incredibly good. I don't think you can find a hotel like it or better than it in the same price range. We'll be staying in AS Movies on our next trip (hopefully, the Dalmatians building!!). For us, internationals, that travel with a very tight budget, the value resorts are wonderful.

BUT my absolutely favorite has to be Wilderness Lodge. I had dinner there in 99 and I LOVED it, its feeling, aura, theming... I'll be saving as soon as I come back, so that I can have my honeymoon there!!

for me definetely the wilderness lodge, just the feeling it has . the detailing and feeling of comfort you get there just standing in the lobby is undescribable. It feels like an old worn in glove. not pretencious and stuffy.....just totally relaxed.

I voted for CBR ..but most my family would disagree with me .. they all like the Poly better ..there is just something so beautiful about CBR to me ..the lake in the center ..specially at night with the lights reflecting off of it, and in the day time with the colors of the building reflecting on the water. I think its just so beautiful. Since we are staying at AKL in just 27 days :sohappy: I may change my opinion !!! but right now.. its the CBR

The Yacht/Beach club for one big reason...Location, Location, Location! You are in the middle of everything. You can walk to Epcot and MGM. The bus rides are pretty short to everything else. You can't beat the boardwalk area. :D

That's the same reason I like the Contemporary so much- being able to look out the window and seeing the Magic Kingdom. It's great!:sohappy:

Yup. Location is one of the reasons I like Borardwalk so much. You can look out on Epcot and possibly even MGM. Just like the Contemporary is to MK, you can easily walk to Epcot. Plus, you can also walk to MGM.
