Best decision for Fantasmic?

Just a general poll...how do you get good seats for Fantasmic? I've heard raves about everything from doing the dining plan to getting there two hours early and eating, to sitting an hour before and playing cards....what does everybody do?

My personal favorite: My best friend Kate is TERRIFIED of loud noises. (Seriously, she makes us stay inside shops at the times when Cinderellabration is ending so she won't hear the fireworks. She's a treat.) So we once asked the people if we could sit as far back as possible...yet all that were open were wheelchair seats. The guy was SO nice...said sure, no problem, let's just make sure you're not taking any needed handicapped seating...and then we got a seat right up top and we only got there half an hour before. It was so great.

We only get to visit WDW during peak times - so we enure that we're there when the gates open to make sure that we're seated centre section - the best seats in the house.
While waiting we join in the Mexican wave (if anyone cares to start it) or just talk about the day so far and plan the next day - the time soon passes

If there are two showings that night, make sure you go to the second showing. The second showing gets you much closer to the center, because there aren't near as many people. You probably won't have to wait as long either.

For me, it doesn't matter where I sit honestly. Most times I will show up 45 mins prior to the start and get a decent seat. One time i had a situation when I was a guest with another guest.

I was watching Muppet Vision 3D and these people would not stop talking. I asked them a few times to please keep the chatter down, and they gave me an attitude. Pretty much every word in the book was said. When I told the guy to "Shut up" he pushed me, almost over one of the theater seats. Now since I was still a CM at the time, I figured, it's best that I don't retaliate, but i did file a complaint agianst him with Orange County, the police then proceeded to eject his family and himself from the park!

The manager on duty that night was amazing. He offered me VIP seats for Fantasmic and gave me No Strings out the wah-zoo. So I used most of the NSA's on Tower of Terror, Rock n Roller Coaster and GMR (Long wait for some odd reason even during a time of year when the park was dead). I had a few left over and gave them to this really nice family that I had started talking to while having some ice cream. I would of gave them my Fantasmic seats, but I had to tell them who I was and show proper ID when I got there.

I sat all the way in the back, dead center. It was so nice to be able to see the show the way it should be seen. When the show ended, I was getting up to leave and that same manager was there, he told me follow him. I did and he took me though a back-stage exit to avoid the crowd. I was very pleased with what he did.

So, if you want good seats, just get pushed over theater seats by some fat slob who has no class what so ever!

Not sure what your definition of "best seat" is, because they all have agreat view of the stage.

Down low or up high, your only difference is the distance you have to walk before and after the show. As far as side viewing, there is nothing wrong with it at all. You get to see some cool stuff because it is not blocked by all the smoke in front of the stage. Also, on a hot night, you may wish to choose the side where the mist is blowing and get cooled off!

I've sat in all of them and the only ones I didn't like were the "corporate party" seats way up at the top of the theater. Too far away and people constantly walking in front of you.

If your friend doesn't like noise, tell her to try some disposable ear plugs!

HAVE FUN!

I like dead center, center, meaning in the middle of the theatre, or dead center in the back, and I usually arrive about 45 minutes before. The center is best like the 50 yard line is best for a football game...any seat can see the show, but the center is where you get the best feel. Plus, when the water screens come up and the wind is blowing, you don't get wet.

Question for the original poster: you said your friend was terrified of terrible noises. What did she think of the cannon?

My wife and I ALWAYS take advantage of the Brown Derby/Fantasmic package...(if you eat dinner at the Brown Derby, you get "special" passes for Fantasmic!!!...You also get to go in the "BACK" way...shhhhhh....it's a secret :lookaroun )...but seriously the food is EXCELLENT (albeit a bit pricey)...and you don't have to wait in "line" for Fantasmic....IMHO it's the way to go.....:D

Personally, I prefer to go to the 2nd showing and sitting in Mickey row K center. Best seats in the house! I don't normally take in Fantasmic unless there are 2 shows or someone in my group wants to see it OR I am having Fantasmic Withdrawls.

Show up early and get a seat in the middle of the Mickey section. Everything is optimized for the center of the stadium, but you do get a decent view no matter where you sit.

It took me two years to get her to go to Fantasmic. Every time we were in a car, we put in the CD with the sound effects, and she would memorize where the "big booms" were. I didn't mention that one of them was a cannon - she kept asking and I was like,"No, I think it's just a gun shot..." Hehehe...when it came out, she couldn't hit me (not with her ear plugs in, her hands over her ears, and her headphones) but she did whack me with her elbow and yell over the din that if there was any justice in the world, I would get run over by a double stroller. But she ended up loving it - we had a blast!

I love showing up early and sitting in the very front row, center section. It's so cool to see the characters' faces. I was so excited when Aladdin saw me and jumped up and down excitedly while waving at me...he remembered having met me before. (I sort of met him a lot when I was on the CP...:lookaroun )

Your post makes me feel better...last time we were there, we seriously didn't mean to, but we sort of stalked Mary Poppins. My best friend Kate absolutely idolizes her (well, more Julie Andrews, but you get it...), and to borrow a phrase from Will and Grace, my cousin Jeff is "more gay before 9 am than most people are all day," and we seemed to see her EVERYWHERE. Every parade (EVERY parade), all of her autograph signings, and Kate even got to ride on the Carousel with her and Bert...you'd think she literally stepped into the movie she was so excited.

Not to mention Jeff yelling out at every parade, "WE LOVE YOU MARY! MARY! MARY POPPINS! YOU'RE BRILLIANT!"

It made some memories, that's for sure:lol:

She really is practically perfect in every way!

That sounds just like I was with Aladdin during the length of my college program. One day I was in MGM and met him (and Jasmine) with some friends, and wouldn't you know I'd seen him at MK the day before...so he said "Hi, Princess, didn't I see you at Magic Kingdom yesterday?" I was pretty stunned...but I nodded and said yes, and he turned and "whispered" to Jasmine "Hey, Jasmine, I think we're her favorites!" So he told me that my friends and I should see the two of them in the MGM parade that afternoon, and come back again tomorrow where he'd be there, same time, same place. When the parade went by that day, I waved at Al and Jas and they waved at me like little kids and then bowed to me as they rode by. Jasmine yelled "You did come to see us!"...and I was off the next day, so I did indeed go back to see Aladdin again, who greeted me with a big hug. And then there was this time I saw him at Epcot after a decent spell of not seeing him and he said "I haven't seen you in what, three weeks now?!"...he was practically right to the day. :) I'm glad to hear there are other fans out there who love to meet a favorite character over and over and other characters who love having fans!

They do seat the center section first.

Once we went two hours early (5:15-ish for a 7 pm show) and got dead center of row M. It was great. But really no matter where you sit the view is good. Just be careful if you sit too close to the water because there is definitely a mist that can blow on the audience, and if it's a cooler night you don't want that.

Yes!! My family just got back from Disney yesterday. When we watched Fantasmic! earlier in the week it was very windy and the mist blew almost halfway up the seats.. even though it was fairly warm out, the mist was not welcomed at all!!!
