What are the best locations to request at CBR, considering proximity to buses and dining? I currently have a standard room reservation.

Jamaica or Aruba as close to the footbridge as possible. Puts you very close to OPR, by way of a very pretty path. And the Jamaica bus stop is very nearby.
We always stay here year after year for our Senior Class Trips.

I like to stay in building 25, if you can request it. VERY close to food area, main pool area and pool bar.

We stayed in the Martinique section and were a short walk from Old Port Royale.

Just stayed there for the first time and our room was in the Jamaica section, building 45. The footbridge was right outside our door so it was only a quick stroll to Old Port Royale. The bus stop by building 46 is the first one to pick up and drop off so we always had a seat going out and returned quickly to our room when coming back.

As others have said, Jamaica or Aruba near the footbridge is probably your best choice. We stayed in Martinique 25 twice before they introduced the Preferred category (or maybe Preferred was only Trinidad North at that point, I'm not sure). Now that was really convenient. The food court was just next door, and the Old Port Royale bus stop was a very short walk away, even closer than the Martinique village bus stop.
Preferred is all of Trinidad North, as well as Martinique 24, 25 and 26.
Trinidad South is where the pirate rooms are.
Best to go with Jamaica 44, 45, 46 or Aruba 51.

North Trinidad for us.
We were in building 33 - 5 min or less walk to the main pool & cafeteria - bus stop right out front.
Building 31 would have been right next to it.
Not sure the lure to Aruba or Jamaica, your across the pond from the main. What is the walk time from there?

North Trinidad is a Preferred location, so the buildings directly across the pond are a good option for those only wanting to book a Standard room.
In fact, even with the walk across the pond there are some rooms in Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51 that are closer to Old Port Royale than the farthest rooms in the Preferred North Trinidad buildings 32 and 33...
