We are staying at CBR for the first time. What is the best building to stay in ? (I'm looking for proximity) to everything. The last time, we stayed at POR ( then DL) and had a 15 minute walk after getting off the bus. What wpuld be a second choice ?

From what I have heard from many people and from my own experience, the earlier in the day you check in, the more likely you are to get the building/room you want.

And the later (I'm talking really late) you check in, the better the opportunity to get an invitational upgrade to a nicer view b/c they have rooms to fill. It's happpened to us numerous times, especially with our check-ins of 10:50pm, 1130pm, 1:56am. (I remember those three the most.)

Rooms at The Boardwalk

Now we all know where to stay at CBR what about The Boardwalk? We have always looked over the main pool. What is it like actually looking over
the boardwalk? Is it noisey looking on to the parking lot?

I've been told the BW rooms, in particular the ones overlooking the boardwalk itself, are all sound proofed. Which is a good thing.

So a check in time of 2:00 to 4:00 would be okay????? We plan on leaving Macon GA early Saturday morning and assume it is roughly a 6 hour drive.

Also, can you see the Illuminations from any of the buildings at CBR?

Our flight lands at 11:45 am so I figure by the time we get to the hotel it will be around 2 or so. We get what we get, but we have 2 young teenagers ( 13 and 14 ) and I would like to give them a little freedom to travel around by themselves within close proximity to us and communicate by cell phones or walkie-talkies. ( My daughter just got back from a group trip to Europe and was going around with other kids unsupervised. She's very responsible, but her friend---- well, there's 1 responsible one. )

It's of course not guaranteed, and we have not asked for such an upgrade. It just sort of happens.

All we want to do that late at night after an 18hour drive is get to the room and sleep, and awaken refreshed for a pool day the very next day. Maybe they can read our fatigue and try to help out. That's nice of them, and keeps us coming. :xmas:
