We are staying at CBR for the first time. What is the best building to stay in ? (I'm looking for proximity) to everything. The last time, we stayed at POR ( then DL) and had a 15 minute walk after getting off the bus. What wpuld be a second choice ?

Hi! I love CBR and we stayed in Aruba this spring break and loved it. It's across the lake from the foodcourt but it's a very enjoyable and short walk also Jamaca is the same way. There is a property map at www.allearsnet.com and it has pictures too. Hope this helps!

hi we have stayed at cbr 11 times now. 1st time was martinique. never again unless you have a car. it is a long walk to the food court. the rest if the time we stay at jamaica. just a short walk over the walking bridge and thats it. its right next to aruba and i believe that aruba is considred a premium location so it costs extra.also jamaica is usually the 1st bus stop.

Unless this changed since last summer, Aruba shouldn't be considered a premiun spot. When we stayed at CBR last summer, I did not pay the extra $10 (or whatever the price was) a night for the premium location, and I was assigned to Aruba. I am returning back to CBR on August 8, and I am again staying in Aruba, and I am not paying the extra premium fee (unless I was charged for it and was not told). Again, unless things have changed since our last visit, I don't think Aruba is a premium location. By all means, please correct me if I am wrong!!!!

Hello! Martinique is not a far walk from Old Port Royale. It's actually the closest island, as well as Trinidad North. I believe there are 3 building in the Martinique section and 2 are closer to OPRoyale and the 3rd is slightly farther. I think I stayed in the 2300s building and it was the farther one from OPR. But really, it's pretty darn close. I stayed at CBR December 2003.

Oh, and to add... Some of the buidlings in Martinique and Trinidad North will cost you an extra $15 a night b/c they are "preferred" locations. If you want to be closer but not pay the extra $15 you can still stay in certain buildings in either section. Just ask the cast member which one is not considered preferred.

Oops, and another thing. I've stayed at CBR 3 times and each visit, the bus stop drop off/pick up order is never the same. Within each trip the bus drivers would stop at one end first and maybe the other one the next time. In fact, one night the bus driver asked us which end we were closer to and when we told him he went to the end closest to us first. It's just kinda whatever they feel like.

i'm glad you think your 3 times at cbr makes you an expert but like i said i have stayed there 11 times in a row just returning last week. the buses don't stop whever they feel like first.maybe when they asked you where you were staying it was because you were the only one on the bus? they cannot bypass other stops to get you in fastest they have a schedule to keep.for the most part jamaica is first.sometimes they will go in the other way and martinique will be first.

I've got to say Aruba or Jamaica. Both are just across the lake from Centre Town, and the walk across Parrot Cay is nice and not too long.

PS. Those would be buildings Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51.

Now I'm really confused ! When you look at the map it looks like Martinique and Trinidad North are the closest.Maybe I should mention that we have a standard view room. We are not into view from the room at WDW. Who spends any time in their room except to sleep, shower and change ? It's all about the World ! Is Jamaica closer than Trinidad North ? I'm looking at the map, but it can be deceiving. I'm going to the travel agent tomorrow to pick up tickets, etc. I'm not going to change my mind AGAIN until I hear from you guys ! Thanks for all the input ! Keep it coming !:)

Martinique and Trinidad North are the two closest, however, if you end up in one of the outer buidlings, it could be a longer walk. As stated by others, Aruba and Jamaica are very convenient, they are both linked to the food court by a footbridge. Trinidad South and Barbados will be very long walks to the food court. Trinidad South is really divided from the rest of the resort by a real road.

Choices for close buildings:
Martinique: 24, 25, 26
Trinidad North: 31, 32
Aruba: 51, 52, 53
Jamaica: 44, 45, 46
Trinidad South: no
Barbados: no

As stated by Antoinebusby, Aruba a great location. We really enjoyed it for our visit as well. We had building 53 and the walk to either the food court or the bus stop was no worse than crossing a wal-mart parking lot.

I have stayed at CBR for 12 separate vacations.

We actually pick an exact room in the ARUBA 52 building. Aruba is just a short jaunt across the lake from the main hub food court and pool, and has some of the prettiest vistas offered if you select a water view. Martinique and Trinidad North are super close (for the most part) and thus you now pay extra money for such a location.

Jamaica is usually the first bus stop, then Aruba, Barbados, Martinique, Calypso, Trinidad North, and Trinidad South.

Aruba, Jamaica, Trinidad North and Martinique are all close to the main area. Aruba and Jamaica are better located to actually explore the Resort yet have a short walk. Def pick Aruba or Jamaica.

Thanks, celticdog ! I will give the travel agent the Martinique, Trinidad North and Aruba rooms you mentioned. She's family and I can't look like too much of an idiot. Now I will look like I know what I'm doing.

be advised that if you ask for matinique and they give it to you though its not guarenteed you might get an outer building which will create a longer walk for you and it won't be scenic it will be through a hot parking lot. i still say go with jamaica. any of the buildings will give you an easy walk to main area.jamaica also has a beach with hamocks and a playground that not all but some of the other islands have.

Ill agree that if you really want to be both close and have pretty vistas and surroundings, you should def stay across the lake at Aruba 51--53 or the latter buildings of Jamiaca, 44-46. If you are given a room in Martinique, you may be on the backside and walk through parking lots, or alongside of lots, to get to the main hub. At least across the lake you are guaranteed a great atmosphere of crossing two footbridges and "exploring" an island.

Good advice. How far in advance can you ask for a room/building choice? We don't leave for a while (November) but I was curious as to when. I have heard that it is a good idea to fax in your request 3 to 5 days prior to departure. True?

you can ask for your choice when you book your vacation or you can call or fax it 3 days in advance but i have also just asked for it when we checked in and never had a problem.

My travel agent is going to fax my request a couple of days in advance. She said they don't actually assign rooms until the day of arrival because people end up staying longer sometimes.

From what I have heard from many people and from my own experience, the earlier in the day you check in, the more likely you are to get the building/room you want.
