Good Evening Folks. At my Disney party last night, there was one thing that was asked by two parties that are going to WDW this year for the first time, with kids.Where would you recommend at Disney for value for your bucks. What one QS & TS are your favourites.? They are both on the free QS DDP but want to book some TS restaurants also.Cheers everybody.:)

For TS in MK, I would say the Plaza. They have burgers, sandwiches, and the to die for cheeseteak. They even have fries that are different than the usual park fries. (steak fries.) With food and the sundaes they offer, it seemed a good bet to me. And you end up being right between Main Street and Tomorrowland.

Translation: Go on TTA, digest and relax, and you are right there next to SM and Buzz. LOL!

Disney Top 10 did a list for TS dinner back in 2009 (http://www.disneytop10.com/disney-top-10-wdw-restaurants-for-the-disney-dining-plan/) ... it's no longer totally applicable since menus and pricing have changed in many cases, plus Le Cellier has gone fully signature, but the concept is a great teaching tool for people to get the most for a DDP TS credit.

#4 on the 2009 list would also serve as a good example since it's still up to date...Allears still lists that entree at $34.99, all of the dessert options are still $7.25, and a soft drink for $2.95 = $45.15 for your 1 TS credit for that meal. That's still more bang for your buck that even the priciest of buffets or family style meals. Granted...you might get more food at the buffet or family style meal, but if we're talking $- you're making that credit go much farther with this approach.

There was 13 at it including 4 kids.Plenty of Disney chat and swopping ideas, lots of good food ( my beignets were a big hit ) and plenty of drink. My DW is still suffering a hangover ( Hee Hee ) She started on wine then switched to Vodka. ( never mix the grape & the grain ) Then we had a Disney trivia game which is available free on apple apps.Best Disney trivia yet.;)

For QS, any place where you can get the combos, like chicken and ribs. I got the one at Flame Tree BBQ in AK and it came with ribs, chicken, cole slaw and baked beans. Quite a bit of food. I think they have one at Cosmic Rays too.

For TS, I think Ohana is a good one because you get all you can eat food, plus your drink and dessert, and you don't have to get up from your table. Some people think it's expensive but if you go somewhere like Coral Reef or Les Chefs, for a drink, entree and dessert, you're going to be in the same ballpark price wise in the end.

I would have to say my favorite QS would be Sunshine Seasons and TS would be Ohana. Wolfgang Puck at DTD is a huge bang for your buck QS. If your friends are fans of buffets and will be looking to do a few TS restaurants, they too can be a better deal for the price as they can get characters and a wide choice of foods.
Definately have to agree with Pooh about Wolfgang Puck Express. The breakfast pizza and the breakfast pocket, can easily feed two. Now, also agreeing with Pooh, I absolutely love Ohana. But, really enjoy a few of the buffets at Disney, Boma or Chef Mickeys or Crystal Palace for breakfast, but wasnt too crazy about Chef Mickey's dinner selections. Biergarten is a good choice for dinner, you get dinner AND entertainment :)

I totally agree with you Deb about Chef Mickeys. It just didn't live up to what I remembered from years past and seemed so chaotic and loud. And your thumbs up for Biergarten really intrigues me because (years past) we were disappointed in the food and haven't been back since. I may have to revisit it because we love German food and who doesn't love being in the middle of the Showcase, especially in the evening?

We skipped Biergarten for a few years and revisited this past October, I was pleasantly surprised

A lot of QS restaurants offer a lot for the money you pay. I'd say Pecos Bill, though due to the free fixings bar. For TS, I haven't eaten at enough to really answer, but the portions at T-Rex are HUGE! Although it is somewhat pricey for traditional American food.

On the QS DDP, I feel that Pepper Market at Coronado Springs as the best value of a QS credit. Quality is good, and is a quasi-table service.

TS credit - Boma dinner. Quality is superb, and quanity is unlimited. Atmosphere is also well themed.

However, since they are on the QS plan, TS is out of pocket. So best out of pocket value I have seen in a TS is the Plaza at MK.
