Bermuda Project

Hey guys. I was thinking about having some sort of relatively fast underwater thrill ride (encapsulated, of course :D). Therefore, an intriguing theme could be this:

==========================================================
BACK STORY:

For years, scientists have tried to unravel the mysteries surrounding the Bermuda Triangle. After over a decade of research, they have discovered that the triangle is a portal for the temporal transportation to known locations on earth.

From the success of these experiments, one such company, Alpha Technologies, has created a way to simulate the triangle's behaviour. Through various experiments, the newly developed technology proved successful for the transportation of inanimate objects.

Alpha technologies is now holding a symposium to showcase their new technology, including a live demonstration of the machine's incredible power...

Thoughts :) ?

Hey,

This is seriously one of the first great posts I've read in a long time. Your project is off to an excellent start and I really love the idea. It has some GREAT potential. I want to see MORE!

Now, what kind of ride system are you using? It seems like a dark ride of sorts?

About the concept art, that big thing to the side with the traingle, it seems out of place? Like, the poster does. It feels like the poster SHOULD be on the inside. I've noticed that with all Disney rides that feature "fake corporations", their logos and stuff don't start until you've entered the ride. The building looks quite huge...will your ride really be that big? I think you can scale it down to a facade, and make the grandness inside of a showbuilding hidden out back. - The WeirdOne :D

Hey

Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated!

The ride system will be a combination of a dark ride symbiotically combined with linear induction actuators on the track. It's not so much a thrill ride, more like an "experience" (similar to AIR of Alton Towers, England). I'll do some concept on the ride system in due time.

As for the building, yeah I was going for the whole massive research facility thing, hence the size :D. However, I understand your opinions and as I get more, I'll probably do a revised rendering.

Thanks again and I'll post more as I ... do... stuff...

Showbuilding and facade. Gotcha. What about actual design of the building? Go with a similar theme? I'll start the version 2 soon. And the ride vehicles as soon as I have time to mess with Autocad.

Btw, this is an open project. Feel free to add to it! By the end of it, everything will be condensed to the best parts anyway since everyone here has a good grasp of theme park design/engineering.

PLAY!

Bad news, but there is already a Bermuda ride at Geauga Lake and at some other Sea World. Not to disapoint you, but keep your head out for them.

Well it is still neat to compare ideas.

But anyway. If this Bermuda ride were to be an E-ticket, a weenie might be a good idea for the entrance building. A high tech looking com tower might work. But it is a good idea only to have a small part as the weenie. The rest of the building being too big would hurt the tower and it wouldn't be as effective as a weenie. But the weenie part would have to have a full look too. If a tower were to be built, don't make it all supports but make the supports covered with Plaster or Sheet metal.

I'll carry on updating as soon as possible. At the mo' I'm pretty busy as I have to restructure some things with a current project.

But hey! Keep adding!
