Can anyone from the New York city area tell me how to get to the Park from Penn Station. I looked on the MTA homepage and it says the LIRR doesn't run to the park on Belmont stakes day ???? I thought you could get there on the subway, but it doesnt specify which line. I think it's the 7 and then get off at Shea ? Any help would be appreciated. Being from the Philly area and Smarty being a Philly Park product, i'd kinda like to be there to possibly witness this rare feat. Even if I did swear off horseracing.

Haven't been there in years...I grew up just a few short blocks from there. I don't know why the LIRR wouldn't be running.

I checked the Park's site & found this..

"Take the F train to 169th street or 179th street then take the N6 or the Q2 bus to Belmont or take the E train to Jamaica Center (Parsons Blvd.) and then take the Q110 bus to Belmont. "

Maybe somebody else has a better idea.......

Thank you both for the replies. My buddy is probably going to book us on a bus trip. Heck of a lot cheaper and easier. More money to put into wagers. Ugh.....just when I thought I sook horse racing along comes a Philly connection to drag me right back in.
