We will be at an on-sight resort during our stay. However, someone we know who lives in florida wants to spend a day with us outside of the WDW complex. We are being shuttled in and don't have transportation. How can this person pick us up?

They can just come in with their own car and you can meet them.

It might not be a bad idea to let the front desk know as well in case they encounter an over zealous guard. My sister and her kids did the same thing to visit us when we were on site and it was no problem. Enjoy the trip!
