I've been reading on the Disney website and saw the "Behind the Seeds" tour that is at "The Land" in Epcot. I was wondering if anyone else has done this tour and if it's worth it as it is an hour long??

My husband and I did the tour in May, and really liked it. If you're interested in plants and alternate ways of growing them,it's well worth it.Our guide was very good!

I took this tour and it was great, you get to try some of the food, touch the plants, and learn how to grow your own hydroponic lab! Be aware it is a walking tour and it is an hour long. If you like to learn about agriculture, it's well worth it!

Yes it is absolutely worth it. Got some of the best photos I have every taken while on that tour. You also get a close up look at the aquafarming area.

The Behind the Seeds tour is a really great tour, particularly if you enjoy gardening, science, or just want to learn more about The Land at Epcot. It lasts about an hour (give or take, depending on the tour guide), and explores the Integrated Pest Management lab, the Biotechnology lab, the Creative Greenhouse, String Greenhouse, Temperate Greenhouse, the Aquacell and Tropics Greenhouse. The tour is led by a member of the Epcot Science Team, one of the cast members that works with the plants, fish and insects on a day-to-day basis. Often, the tour guide is a college intern, but the permanent staff also give tours (some of them have been with The Land since before it was even built).

Some additional information:
Cost: $14.00 for guests ages 10+, $10.00 for guests ages 3-9.
Frequency: The tour is offered every 45 minutes throughout the day, every day. The first tour departs at 10:30, the last at 4:30.
Discounts: 15% discount for AAA members, DVC members, Disney Visa Credit Card holders, Disney Annual Passholders and military, active or retired. There is also a coupon in Birnbaum's Official Guide to Walt Disney Word.
Accessibility: The tour is fully accessible for guests in wheelchairs. ECV's may also be accomidated, though there are several tight corners that may be difficult for ECV's to navigate. Courtesy wheelchairs are available for use during the tour, free of charge. Courtesy strollers are also available for use on request.

Photography is permitted during the tour, along with videotaping.

Tours may be booked in advance by calling 407-WDW-TOUR. Same-day reservations may be made at the tour desk, just to the left of the entrance to Soarin'.

Special arrangements may be made for large groups and/or those planning educational trips.

Really enjoyed it

I don't have much to add beyond what has already been posed, except to say that I certainly agree that it is worth it - both in terms of the reasonable cost and the duration. There were even some 'handouts' - materials to get you started on your own basic hydro. garden, that I would still like to try.

I also have pictures from the last tour that I took if you want to take a look.
