Behind the Seeds Tour - "Temporarily Closed"

...apparently since Sunday.

There are no dates on the Times Guide that give a possible reopening.

This may have to do with (1) Soarin' - in which case it will be down for a while - or (2) the absence of fish in the Living with the Land (some sort of refurbishment).

If anyone has any info, let us know!

I would speculate that this is due to the Soarin construction

I would also sadly speculate that this may also be the beginning of the end of the tour. Meaning, it may never reopen again.

Another thought...the area where the Green Thumb Emporium and the Behind The Seeds tour area is may become the exit to Soarin. Which means that we'll probably see a new or remodelled shop, and an onride photo area (if they take your pic on the ride)

Hmmmm...

My source said it would be going down when Food Rocks closes on January 3. Could this mean that Soarin' construction is going ahead of schedule?

They also said that the tour would continue when Soarin' construction was finished.

Fish gone

I was there on September 18 and 19. There were no fish in the tanks at that time either, but the ride was still functioning. The guide just pointed out that they use the tanks for growing fish and let it go at that. It must be due to "Soaring"???

Indeed the fish have been gone for a few months now. I've heard it's for cleaning - and that sounds right! You can see the wastes in some of the tubes. :hurl:

Alligators are there, though. . . and I figure it's simply a refurbishment.

Man, I hope not. I've always wanted to take that tour but never seemed to have the time. I was planning on taking it in December! :hammer:

I have a feeling they will bring it back at least after Soarin's opening.

It's just one of those few things you predict Disney to reopen. . . you know?

I think you are right, Grizz. I remember seeing some alligators, but I believe there were fewer than I have seen before.

I hope you're right. But in these days of cost cutting, I'm not so sure about the tour's fate. Someone in the offices counting beans may say, "Look at how much money we're saving by not running this show." I honestly never expected it to last this long.

The tour itself is entertaining and educational. It gives you more information and interaction than Living With The Land ever could. It really is one of the few attractions that is still around (tenatively) that carries the original spirit of Epcot and Future World.

In addition to cleaning, note that the tanks on the left of the boat have been built up similar to the ones on the right.:)

I wouldn't count on it. The Soarin ride is being put into a new building. The only thing in The Land that appears to be leaving is Food Rocks.

The whole Land won't be replaced by Soarin'. If that's what the CM said, then you really need to not believe in one Cast Member so much. The Land may, however, be refurbished, but not replaced.

Sorry to bump this up, but I was at Epcot Thursday, and the Behind The Seeds tour was still running. But on the Epcot Times Guide, it said "Temporarily Closed". What's the deal?

All the times giudes say Temporarily closed now, but there is still a possibility of the tour going on. The powers that be are playing it on an unpublished day-to-day basis until they can't do the tour anymore.

Once the tour closes, it will most likely be closed for a while, but it SHOULD be coming back up after the major construction is over.
